Leave for Elected Office. The Board shall grant a leave of absence without pay to an Employee to hold office in a Federal, Provincial or Municipal government. The Employee shall suffer no loss of seniority or any other rights and privileges under this Agreement. The Employee shall return to the position held prior to the leave for a period of two (2) years and to the same or equivalent position thereafter, subject to Articles 14 and 18.
Leave for Elected Office. When a teacher is nominated as a candidate and wishes to contest a municipal, regional, provincial, or federal election, the teacher upon request, shall be granted leave of absence without pay during the election campaign.
Leave for Elected Office. In the event that a teacher is nominated as a candidate in a provincial, or federal election, the teacher shall be granted a leave of absence, provided arrangements can be made for a satisfactory teacher teaching on call, without pay, for the duration of the election campaign. Should a teacher be elected as MP, MLA, or Mayor, the teacher shall be granted a long term leave of absence, without pay.
Leave for Elected Office. The Superintendent of Schools or his/her delegate shall grant leave of absence to employees wishing to seek election to public office. Leave prior to polling shall not exceed two months, with salary deductions based upon Clause 20.2 of this agreement. If elected to public office the employee must submit a request for further leave for the balance of the school year and prior to March 15 for each succeeding year, for a maximum period of five years.

29.1 Should a teacher be elected as a member of Parliament or member of the Legislative Assembly, they shall be granted an unpaid leave of absence for the first term of office.
Leave for Elected Office. A teacher who is elected to public office may be granted an unpaid leave of absence for the initial term of that office not to exceed four (4) years.
Leave for Elected Office. An employee who is elected or selected for a full-time position with the Union, Saskatchewan Federation of Labour, Canadian Labour Congress or the National Union of Public & General Employees, shall be granted a definite leave of absence without loss of seniority for a period of one (1) year, subject to annual renewal for the term of office. The employee agrees to promptly notify the employer should any change occur regarding the status of their position. Such employee shall continue to receive full salary and benefits from the Employer conditional on reimbursement of such salary and full benefit costs by the Union to the employer.
Leave for Elected Office. The Board agrees to grant a leave of absence to any teacher for the purpose of filling a political office at the municipal, provincial, or federal office, subject to review after one term in office. Any entitlement to benefits for a teacher on leave for elected office shall be determined by the ETFO Employee Life and Health Trust, or as established through the Governmental agency through which they hold office, for the term of their leave. The teacher shall be responsible for any arrangements required with the Teachers’ Pension Plan Board to continue pension contributions where permissible.
