LEAVE SELECTION. Where annual leave would otherwise be applicable, workers may elect to be off work and not be charged with the use of annual leave time off for up to eight (8) hours per pay period. Workers may elect to take additional time off work and not be charged with the use of annual or other types of leave when child attendance dictates there is not a need for full staffing. All leave must be approved in advance by the supervisor. Such time off will be without pay. Time off taken over eight (8) hours per pay period will be charged annual leave. All requests for time off, with annual leave or without pay must be submitted on a leave application sheet. Where a fully completed leave application sheet is not submitted prior to or with the time sheet for any unpaid leave the leave shall be with pay. Leave without pay doesn't count toward accrual of annual leave, determination of overtime, or for other benefit purposes.

LEAVE SELECTION. 20.1 The maximum number of personnel off on scheduled leave shall be calculated annually. The number of paramedics allowed off on scheduled leave shall be the number of paramedics needed to staff all designated medic positions plus two as a cushion. Annual military leave shall not affect previously scheduled leave.
LEAVE SELECTION. 20.1 Leave shall be approved by the District such that the citizens are best served and the employees have a reasonable right to use accrued leave. A maximum of five paid shift employees from the Fire Fighter Bargaining Unit shall be permitted off on a scheduled leave from each shift. Scheduled leave shall include vacation, holidays, Xxxxx Days, compensatory time and Union Business. Nothing in this article shall prohibit the District from allowing additional employees off as staffing permits.

  • Shift Selection In multiple shift operations, employees within each classification shall have a right to select their work shift on the basis of their seniority within a bureau or division thereof and competing only with employees covered under this agreement on the following basis:

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Vacation Selection Beginning January 2 of each calendar year, employees will be scheduled a time, based on seniority, to select up to three (3) segments of available vacation leave during the time period of April 1 through March 31. A “segment” is one (1) or more contiguous days of vacation leave. No segment shall include more than ten (10) consecutive days of vacation leave in June, July, and/or August, provided that an employee may select contiguous segments of vacation leave. Each employee will be guaranteed one (1) scheduled workweek of vacation leave if requested as one of their segments. Off-shift times to select a vacation will not be considered as “time worked” for purposes of computing callback or overtime. If an employee is unable to be present during their scheduled time they may make their choice by telephone, email, or another individual with written documentation of designation, may select a vacation segment(s) for the employee. If the employee fails to select their vacation during their assigned time, the Employer may proceed with scheduling. The employee will be provided an opportunity to select their segment(s) at a later date when they are available. The Employer will publish the vacation schedule by March 1, after considering requests, as well as Agency program needs. Employees will complete a Leave Request Form no less than thirty (30) days prior to any approved vacation segment taken.

  • Personnel Selection Leave 35.6.1 Where an employee participates in a personnel selection process for a position in the Public Service, as defined in the Financial Administration Act, the Council shall grant leave of absence with pay for the period during which the employee's presence is required for purposes of the selection process, and for such further period as the Council considers reasonable for the employee to travel to and from the place where his presence is so required.

  • Leave of Absence for Union Business (a) The Employer shall grant leaves of absence to employees to attend Union Conventions, negotiations of the Collective Agreement with the Employer and other Union business. The Union agrees that such leave will not unduly affect the proper operations or be detrimental to the proficient operations of the Employer.
