Xxxxx Days. ‌ (A) Employees represented by IAFF Local #1147 shall work an average of fifty-five and eight-hundredths (55.08) hours per week. Employees assigned to fire prevention and fire inspection shall work an average of forty (40) hours per week. (B) Effective September 1, 2007, for each employee scheduled to work 2,912 hours, two (2) Xxxxx Days, consisting of twenty-four (24) hours of unpaid leave time each, will be applied to the annual schedule. The application of Xxxxx Days to the FLSA Work Schedule will reduce the FLSA overtime liability for those FLSA work periods in which they are applied. These Xxxxx Days represent unpaid leave time applied to the annual work schedule to reduce the annual paid hours from 2,912 to 2,864. (C) The selection of Xxxxx Days shall be determined by shift, based on seniority as defined in the current collective bargaining agreement. Xxxxx Xxx(s) may be scheduled at any time during the calendar year. Whenever a Xxxxx Xxx is scheduled in the third slot period, it will be placed in the third slot. Whenever a Xxxxx Xxx is scheduled in the 2nd slot period, it will be placed in the 2nd vacation slot. (D) Effective January 1, 2015, all new employees hired between July 1st and December 31st will receive two (2) Xxxxx Days. Any new employee hired between January 1st and May 31st will receive one (1) Xxxxx Xxx. Any new employee hired between June 1st and June 30th will receive zero (0) Xxxxx Days. New employees will then receive Xxxxx Days in accordance with Section 6.10(B). (E) The actual scheduling of each eligible employee’s two (2) twenty-four hour days off shall have the following conditions: 1) Each Xxxxx Xxx will be scheduled as a full twenty-four (24) hour day off (no splitting). 2) Only one Xxxxx Xxx can be scheduled per twenty-four (24) hour shift. 3) Xxxxx Days must be scheduled and used during each fiscal year (no carry over). 4) Once Xxxxx Days have been scheduled, they may be traded subject to the minimum 24 hour notice given to the Division Chiefs. 5) Any approved Xxxxx Xxx trade shall be considered a duty trade for purposes of the FLSA and shall not result in payment of overtime and the granting of a duty trade shall not result in the payment of overtime to either of the employees involved in the trade. 6) Xxxxx Days shall be scheduled in accordance with the department’s vacation day scheduling policy. 7) Employees will be required to take off their selected Xxxxx Xxx. 8) Guaranteed Xxxxx Days will be scheduled immediately fo...

Xxxxx Days. Xxxxx Xxx annual schedules will be delineated by shift and each twenty-one (21) day work period with annual start date and end dates as close as possible to October 1st. Xxxxx Xxx Schedule Upon ratification of this agreement, the District will initiate a Xxxxx Xxx bidding and selection process within thirty (30) calendar days. Xxxxx Days are taken every seven (7) shifts with pay at straight time. Xxxxx Days shall be bid annually in the month of August and are assigned for the forthcoming fiscal year by September 1st. The day awarded shall remain for the next fiscal year unless the employee changes shifts, or swaps Xxxxx Days as provided below. Xxxxx Xxx selection shall not cause overtime. Xxxxx Xxx Selection and Bidding Xxxxx Xxx bidding and selection shall follow the Bidding Order process below: Bidding Order Employees will bid using department seniority. Up to three (3) Firefighters on a given day**. *When the number of Engineers exceeds fourteen (14), no more than four (4) Engineers shall be assigned to a Xxxxx Xxx. **When the number of Firefighters exceeds twenty-eight (28), no more than five (5) Firefighters shall be assigned to a Xxxxx Xxx. Restrictions The District reserve the right to establish shift Xxxxx Xxx thresholds to meet operational needs. Use of Xxxxx Days In the event an employee is transferred to another shift, the employee shall keep their assigned Xxxxx Xxx unless it conflicts with the Xxxxx Xxx(s) of other employees on the new shift. In the event of such a conflict, the employee may arrange a permanent swap with another employee on the new shift, or if no permanent swap can be arranged, the employee shall select an open Xxxxx Xxx on that new shift. Xxxxx Xxx Swaps Employees of the same rank can exchange Xxxxx Days upon notification to the Fire Chief or designee. Exchanges of Xxxxx Days between different ranks shall be made only upon prior approval of the Fire Chief or designee. Xxxxx Xxx swaps shall not cause overtime and shall occur only within the FLSA twenty-one (21) day cycle. Xxxxx Days. Section 9.6.1 Each employee shall receive “Xxxxx Days” during the year according to the following seniority-based schedule. For purposes of this section, the seniority date will be determined by the number of full years of full time regular employment on first day of January annually. Section 9.6.2 The method of selection of Xxxxx Days shall be that adopted in the department rules and regulations.

(B) Effective January 1, 2018, fifty-six (56) hour employees, regular status (non-probationary) shall receive eight (8) shifts of Xxxxx Days in a bank, to be used in full shift increments each year. (C) Xxxxx Xxx is a shift off without loss of salary and without use of other paid leave time. Unused Xxxxx Days shall not carry over into the following calendar year. (D) The Fire Department will utilize the same process for scheduling Xxxxx Days as it uses for scheduling Personal Leave or Compensatory Holidays. Overtime caused by the use of a Xxxxx Xxx may not be incurred unless approved in advance by management of the Fire Department. (E) When a Probationary Employee achieves regular status, a pro-rated number of days will be credited to their Xxxxx Xxx Bank. The pro-rated days will round up or down to whole shifts, based on the value of the proration, when the decimal value is equal to a greater than x.51 then an additional shift will be added, when it is less than x.51 then no additional shift shall be added, (where x is the whole number or zero).
Xxxxx Days. In order to avoid working in excess of one hundred fifty- nine (159) 3 hours during any twenty-one (21) day work period as specified in Section 8.1, employees shall be 4 scheduled one (1) “Xxxxx Xxx” every third twenty-one (21) day work period. Xxxxx Days shall be 5 scheduled in December of each year for the following calendar year and shall take precedence over 6 any other requested time off.

Xxxxx Days. Employees shall receive eleven (11) shift days off per calendar year. These work reduction days, or Xxxxx Days, will be assigned to employees by the Fire Chief in order to facilitate the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act. Reduction of Xxxxx Days may occur as a result of sick leave, injury leave or any other long term leave. After each eleven (11) consecutive duty day period, one (1) Xxxxx Xxx will be reduced from the employee’s accrual. For the purpose of calculating the reduction, the use of employeespersonal time off during the duration of the leave will not be counted as part of the Xxxxx Xxx reduction process. Xxxxx Xxx accrual for employees during their first and last year of employment will be prorated based on actual full months worked during that calendar year based on the eleven (11) day calculation.

Xxxxx Days. (A) The City agrees that the work schedule for suppression members of the Bargaining Unit shall be the three (3) platoon system of twenty-four (24) hours of continuous duty commencing at 0800 hours, followed by forty-eight (48) continuous off duty hours. In order to maintain a forty-eight (48) hour work week, one continuous twenty-four (24) hour off duty period shall be scheduled to follow each sixth (6th) normally scheduled on duty day. The off duty period is referred to as a “day of adjustment” or a “Xxxxx Xxx.” No time off duty with pay due to scheduling of a “Xxxxx Xxx” shall be lost due to conflict with any period of vacation, holiday, sick leave, injury leave, jury duty or other excused time that is provided for in this contract or by the application of any law or ordinance.
Xxxxx Days. 12.01 The recognized holidays and the scheduling set forth in observing these holidays shall not apply to Fire Department personnel working the 24-hour shift. Xxxxx Days. All employees covered by this agreement (except when in the fire prevention bureau) shall have a Xxxxx xxx scheduled off every ninth (9th) duty shift. In no instance will more than one (1) officer be off on a Xxxxx xxx. Once Xxxxx days have been selected, they shall be fully tradable with all other employees and may be combined with any and all other time off on days of the employee’s choosing. Any such trade shall be considered a duty trade for purposes of FLSA and shall not create any FLSA overtime liability. It is also agreed that should any Xxxxx xxx position become available during the term of this agreement for any reason, including but not limited to retirement, resignation, disability, or other reason, the open Xxxxx xxx position may be bid for by seniority of those on the affected shift. The employee with the highest seniority who bids for the open Xxxxx xxx position shall receive the bid for Xxxxx xxx schedule in place of his current Xxxxx xxx schedule. The bidding process shall be limited to one round only and there shall be no opportunity for any employee to bid on a Xxxxx xxx that becomes vacant subsequent to his bid. Once any reallocation of Xxxxx xxx schedules is completed, the newly hired employee shall receive the remaining Xxxxx xxx position/schedule as assigned by the fire chief or his designee. It is further agreed that this bidding system is procedural, and nothing in this bidding system will subject the City to any additional FLSA overtime costs.
