– LEAVES‌ Section A – Illness, Injury, and Emergency Leave. Employees shall have twelve (12) days leave of absence for personal illness, injury, or emergency. This leave may also be used to care for a child of the employee with a health condition that requires treatment or supervision or for a spouse, parent, parent-in-law or grandparent of the employee who has a serious health condition or an emergency in accordance with state and/or federal law. Further, it may be used for the illness or death of a relative of the employee or someone with whom the employee has a close personal relationship. It may also be used for problems requiring an employee’s personal attention for which preplanning is not possible. In addition to the above, employees shall have two additional days of emergency leave annually. The additional emergency leave is non-accumulative. The twelve days of leave for illness, injury and emergency are frontloaded based on the employee’s FTE at the start of each school year. When an employee’s FTE decreases or increases during the school year, the FTE increase/decrease will be reflected in an adjustment to the number of days front loaded at the start of the year. The total days available under the contract shall be placed at the disposal of the certificated employee at the beginning of the contract year. Unused sick leave shall be accumulative year-to-year up to a maximum of one hundred eighty(180)days. Each employee covered by Industrial Insurance shall reimburse the District monies paid. Such reimbursement shall restore sick leave accrued to such employee on a prorated basis of the reimbursement. Employees who work less than a full year shall be allowed that portion of leave of absence for personal illness or injury as the total days employed bears to the number of days in the employment year. All personal illness of more than five (5) days duration shall be substantiated by a doctor's verification or a written signed letter by the employee.

Employees who work less than full-time shall be entitled to that portion of the ten (10) days leave as the number of hours per week of scheduled duty relates to the number of hours for a full-time employee in a comparable position.

  • INJURY LEAVE In the event an unusual circumstance exists regarding the original six (6) months of injury leave, and the employee did not use injury leave hours due to the injury or did not lose work time, the Fire Chief with the approval of the Human Resources Director may extend such injury leave.   • Unused Personal Leave Since a number for the available personal leave days has been established, a basic discussion will need to be had regarding unused personal leave days. Naturally, these differ from vacation days since the Employer will not always be required to pay the Employee when personal leave is taken. If a dollar amount will be attached to each personal leave day that is unused so that it can be paid to that Employee then, select the first checkbox presented in the list of options provided and record the dollar amount that shall be paid for one unused personal day.   • Occupational Injury Leave Occupational injury leave shall be governed by the Rules promulgated on this subject and the Ohio Revised Code 5503 as they exist on March 26, 1989, except as modified in this Article. All employees in the bargaining unit shall be entitled to occupational injury leave.

  • PERSONAL INJURY BENEFITS A. 1. A teacher will be granted up to five (5) days of leave per year to cover situations other than personal illness beyond the control of the teacher which would significantly impair teaching service. Deductions from the gross pay of a teacher for this leave shall be made at the degreed substitute rate of pay for each day taken.

  • Payment of Paid Personal/Carer’s Leave (a) If an employee takes a period of paid personal/xxxxx’s leave and meets the notice requirements set out at Clause 44.3 the employer must pay the employee at the employee’s base rate of pay for the employee’s ordinary hours of work in the period.
