MANDATORY REST PERIOD Clause Samples
A Mandatory Rest Period clause requires that individuals, such as employees or contractors, are provided with a minimum, non-negotiable amount of time off between work shifts or assignments. This clause typically specifies the exact duration of rest required—such as 8 or 12 consecutive hours—and may outline circumstances under which exceptions are permitted. Its core function is to protect health and safety by preventing overwork and ensuring adequate recovery time, thereby reducing fatigue-related risks and promoting overall well-being.
