Military Leave for Training Purposes. (1) Section (1) of Florida Statute 115.07 requires the City to grant leaves of absence to City employees who are commissioned reserve officers or reserve enlisted personnel in the United States military or naval service or members of the National Guard without loss of vacation leave, pay, time, or efficiency rating. This leave is required on all days during which the City employee is engaged in training ordered under the provisions of the United States military or naval training regulations regardless of whether they are assigned to active or inactive duty. (2) Effective July 1, 2010, Florida Statute 115.07 gives a maximum period of 240 hours in any one annual calendar year period for this type of leave of absence. Administrative leaves of absence of periods in excess of 240 hours are to be without pay. (3) Employees requesting leave under these provisions must submit a verified copy of their notification for duty with completed Personnel Leave (PF-301) or (PF 300), to their Department Director at least two (2) weeks in advance.

Military Leave for Training Purposes a. Eligibility—A unit member who is a member of the National Guard or of the U.S. Armed Forces Reserves, and who is required by the laws of the United States or of Maryland to report for a training period, shall be eligible for a grant of military leave for training purposes. b. Application procedure—Application for military leave for training purposes shall be made in advance, immediately upon receipt of official notice to report from the appropriate military authorities. A copy of the official orders must accompany the application for leave, which must be approved by the appropriate official and the superintendent. When possible, military leave for unit members with less than twelve (12) months of responsibility shall be arranged during nonduty periods. The superintendent may request a change in military orders when it seems to be in the best interest of the school system. c. Pay status during leaveAll unit members who are members of the organized militia or of the Reserves shall be entitled to leave of absence without loss of pay on all days during which they shall be engaged in field or coast defense or other training ordered or authorized under any law of Maryland or of the United States, during such time as they are on inactive duty training, for not more than fifteen (15) days annually; provided, however, if any members of the organized militia are ordered to active duty under authority of the governor, they shall be entitled to leave of absence without loss of pay for such time as they actually serve under such active duty orders, in addition to the 15 day period specified above; and provided further, if any member of the Reserves are ordered to active duty, they shall be entitled to a leave of absence without loss of pay for up to fifteen (15) days while on active duty, in addition to the fifteen (15) day period specified above.
Military Leave for Training Purposes. Leave for military purposes shall be granted only after the Board has been satisfied that it is not possible for the staff member to carry out his normal military responsibilities on non-school time, and after representations have been made to the Armed Services to alter the time required duties so that it shall not conflict with the school duties. The Board shall supplement pay received from the government to equal the regular salary for the period served.

(3) Employees requesting leave under these provisions must submit a verified copy of their notification for duty with completed Personnel Leave (PF-301) or (PF 300), to the Fire Chief or designee at least two (2) weeks in advance. The City reserves the right to amend provisions of this policy, provided that such provisions remain the same as those available to all other non-managerial City employees.

  • Military Leaves 1. Short Term Military Leaves of Absence (Reserve or National Guard Duty)--Less Than 90 Days Per Calendar Year a. Subject to the terms and conditions provided in subsections 1.b. through 1.d. of this Article, below, employees shall be entitled to time off with pay when they are required to take a leave of absence for: (i) military training duty and/or (ii) military duty in the State of Wisconsin because of riot or civil disturbance.

  • Military Leave An employee will be granted unpaid Military Leave in accordance with the Employment Standards Act. The employee will give as much notice as is reasonably possible and will provide a copy of the Military Notice when received.

  • Military Leave of Absence Upon application, a military leave of absence without pay will be granted to employees who are inducted through Selective Service or voluntary enlistment, or those called through membership in the National Guard or reserve component into the Armed Forces of the United States. Credited service for military service shall be determined by the retirement plan.

  • Military Training Leave An employee who has served with the State of Oregon or its counties, municipalities or other political subdivisions for six (6) months or more immediately preceding an application for military leave, and who is a member of the National Guard or of any reserve components of the armed forces of the United States is entitled to a leave of absence with pay for a period not exceeding fifteen (15) calendar days or eleven (11) workdays in any training year (October 1 through September 30). If the training time for which the employee is called to active duty is longer than fifteen (15) calendar days, the employee may be paid for the first fifteen (15) days only if such time is served for the purpose of discharging an obligation of annual active duty for training in the military reserve or National Guard.

  • Military Leaves of Absence The provisions of the Military and Veterans Code of the State of California shall govern military leave of County employees.

  • Annual Leave Loading During a period of annual leave an employee will receive a loading of 17.5 per cent calculated on the employee’s normal hourly rate of pay and the daily fares allowance if applicable. The loading will also apply to proportionate leave on lawful termination.

  • Temporary Military Leave An employee who is a member of the reserve corps of the Armed Forces of the United States or of the National Guard or of the Naval Militia shall be granted a Temporary Military Leave while engaged in military duty ordered for the purposes of military training, drills, encampment, naval cruises, special exercises or like activity as such member providing that the period of ordered duty does not exceed one hundred eighty (180) calendar days including time involved in going to and returning from such duty.

  • Military Leave Without Pay An employee in the State service shall be entitled to a military leave of absence without pay during a period of service with the armed forces of the United States. However, such reduction in salary will not be made for an FLSA-exempt employee on temporary military leave except for full workweek increments where such leave causes an absence of one (1) or more full workweeks. The employee shall, upon honorable discharge from such service, be returned to a position in the same class as the employee’s last held position, if available, at the salary rate prevailing for such class, without loss of seniority or employment rights. Employees shall make application for reinstatement within ninety (90) days and shall report for duty within six (6) months following separation from active duty. Failure to comply may terminate military leave. If it is established that the employee is not physically qualified to perform the duties of their former position by reason of such service, the employee shall be reinstated in other work that the employee is able to perform at the nearest appropriate level of pay of the employee’s former class. An employee voluntarily or involuntarily seeking military leave without pay to attend service school shall be entitled to such leave during a period of active duty training. Military leaves of absence without pay shall be granted in compliance with the Veterans' Reemployment Rights Law, Title 38 USC Chapter 43.

  • Educational Leave of Absence Leaves of absence may be granted up to six (6) months under the above provisions only if the course would be beneficial to both the University and the employee.

  • Military Caregiver Leave The employer shall grant an employee who is a family member of a covered service member an unpaid leave of up to twenty-six (26) weeks (inclusive of the twelve (12) weeks granted under 1. above) in a single twelve (12) month period to care for the covered service member who has a serious illness or injury incurred in the line of duty on active duty.
