Natural Birth. The Board shall grant maternity leave without pay to any tenured employee upon request subject to the following stipulations and limitations:
a. Maternity leave shall commence on the date requested by the employee.
b. Maternity leave shall terminate on any one of the following dates: the first school day of the succeeding school year, or the first school day of the succeeding school year or at the start of the second semester of either school year of leave thirty (30) days prior notice of return date to be given by the employee providing the employee has not received a notice of termination of employment pursuant to applicable law.
c. The employee shall deliver to the Board a notice in writing of the requested leave no less than sixty (60) days prior to the said commencement date.
d. Both of the aforesaid dates shall be subject to change as a consequence of a bona fide emergency.
e. Any employee granted maternity leave without pay according to the provisions of this Section may at her discretion elect to use all or any part of her accumulated sick leave during the disability period of such absence and receive full pay and benefits for same. Paid leave shall apply to female employees only.
f. Any employee granted maternity leave shall at her request be restored to the same position (providing the position has not been eliminated) vacated at the commencement of said leave.
g. No employee shall be required to leave work because of pregnancy at any specific time prior to the expected childbirth nor be prevented from returning to work after childbirth and the desired date of return except pursuant to the notice provided above.
h. The Board shall not remove any employee from her duties during pregnancy unless the employee is not medically able to continue her normal duties.
Natural Birth. The Board shall grant child care for an infant child leave without pay to any employee upon request subject to the following stipulations and regulations:
a. Said child care leave shall commence and terminate on the dates requested by the employee with the approval of the Board of Education.
b. The Board shall not require any employee to take a leave of absence unless there is a noticeable decline in her performance or a failure to produce certification from her physician that she is medically able to continue teaching.
c. No employee shall be prevented from returning to work after childbirth solely on the ground that there has not been a time lapse between childbirth and the desired date of return. Certification from her physician that she is medically able to resume her duties must be presented to the Board.
d. Notification of intention to return must be given by the employee to the Board in writing on or before the 15th of March of the school year prior to the school year in which she plans to return. Failure by an employee to properly notify the Board shall be an indication that the employee does not plan to return for the following year. Reemployment of non-tenured employees shall be at the option of the Board in all cases.
e. The Board shall not discriminate against any person in violation of

Natural Birth. The Board shall grant maternity/paternity leave not to exceed two (2) years without pay, to any teacher upon his/her request subject to the following stipulations and limitations:
a. Any teacher seeking such leave shall apply in writing to the Board at least ninety
Natural Birth. At the employee’s request and consistent with the Family Leave Act and pursuant to law, the Board shall grant a leave of absence for any period of maternity disability. The employee seeking such a leave of absence for reasons associated with maternity disability shall file a written response with the Superintendent at least 60 days in advance of the anticipated date of birth of the child. Such request shall include the anticipated date of birth and the ancticipated date on which said employee expects to return.

a. Childcare leave shall commence on the date requested by the teacher.
b. No teacher shall be prevented from returning to work after childbirth solely on the ground that there has been a time lapse between childbirth and the desired date of return.
c. The Board shall not remove any teacher from her duties during pregnancy unless the teacher cannot produce a certificate from her physician that she is medically able to continue teaching.

Natural Birth. The Board shall grant maternity/paternity leave not to exceed two (2) years without pay, to any principal or supervisor upon his/her request subject to the following stipulations and limitations:
a. Any principal or supervisor seeking such leave shall apply in writing to the Board at least 90 school days prior to the beginning of leave, unless medical circumstances prohibit such notice. At the time of application, the principal or supervisor shall specify in writing the date on which he/she wishes to commence leave and the date on which he/she wishes to return to work.
b. If, after requesting maternity/paternity leave for only one school year, a principal or supervisor wishes to extend his/her leave for an additional period not exceeding two (2) years (including his/her original leave), he/she shall notify the Board in writing on or before January 1 of the year preceding the year in which such additional leave is requested and the new date on which he/she wishes to return to work. The Board, upon receipt of such written request, shall grant such leave.
c. The Board shall not be required to grant a maternity/paternity leave for a nontenured certified employee beyond the end of the contract year in which the leave is obtained.
Natural Birth. The Board shall grant maternity leave without pay to any teacher upon request subject to the following stipulations and limitations:
(a) Maternity leave shall commence on the date requested by the teacher. Every effort shall be made not to interfere with the administrations of the school.
(b) No teacher shall be prevented from returning to work after childbirth solely on the grounds that there has not been a time lapse between childbirth and the desired date of return.
(c) Any pregnant teacher may utilize the provisions of Article XI (Sick Leave). Said teacher shall, upon request of the Superintendent, provide a doctor's certificate attesting to her incapacity. In cases where the Board may be in doubt as to the condition of the teacher applying to use said sick leave, the Board may request examination by a physician appointed by the Board.
Natural Birth. The Board of Education shall grant childcare leave without pay to any tenured teacher upon written request and subject to the following stipulations and limitations.
(a) Child care leave shall commence on the date requested by the teacher. Such leave shall not exceed two (2) years. A teacher granted childcare leave would return to work at the beginning of a school year (September). The date of return will be determined at the time the leave is approved.
(b) Child care leave requires sixty (60) days prior notice to the Board of Education.
