Non-Certificated Personnel. It is the policy of the Union #61 School Committee to maintain an organization of non-certificated personnel which is keyed to the needs and legal structure of the educational program.
Non-Certificated Personnel. It is recognized that members of the non-certificated staff require specialized qualifications, and that the success of the educational program in the River Valley Local School District depends upon the maximum utilization of the abilities of non-certificated personnel who are reasonably well satisfied with the conditions under which their service are rendered.
Non-Certificated Personnel. In no case shall any non-certificated employee be requested or required to perform any duty mandated by law to be performed by a duly certified professional employee, except in cases of emergency as determined by the building administrator.
Non-Certificated Personnel. Except for emergency, short-term (2 hours or less) situations, no non-certificated personnel shall be solely responsible for supervision of a classroom. Any assignment that is currently held by a certified employee shall not be filled upon a vacancy by non-certificated personnel. Temporary replacement of a certificated position during a school year shall be mutually addressed by the Association and Administration. The certificated position shall be restored the following school year.
Non-Certificated Personnel. The duties of non-certificated personnel shall be confined solely and exclusively to supportive duties within the school district. However, non-instructional employees may serve as permanent substitutes, manage in-school suspension and time-out rooms, and support the school in activities in which an educator’s certificate is not required.
Non-Certificated Personnel. Non-certificated personnel will not be allowed to assume the teaching duties of an absent teacher.
Non-Certificated Personnel. 1. Members of the non-certificated staff who have received tenure or have completed three years of service and have been renewed for another year shall be granted, upon receipt of a written request, a child care leave to extend up to the end of the employee's work year. 2. Such leave shall take the following factors into consideration.

b. The reasonableness of dovetailing staff changes with the school calendar.
c. Said child care leave shall be granted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
3. Child care leave shall be without pay for the period outside of sick leave as may be medically certified.
4. Child care leave shall be extended, if requested, for an additional period up to one full work year. Such requests must be filed no later then sixty days prior to the expiration of the initial leave.
5. Any employee with tenure status, or who has completed three years of service and has been renewed for another year, who is adopting an infant preschool child may receive a leave similar to that for child care leave, and which shall commence upon receiving the actual custody of said infant or earlier if necessary to fulfill the requirements for adoption.
Non-Certificated Personnel. Certificated personnel possess unique talent. Except for emergency, short-term (2 hours or less) situations, no non-certificated personnel shall be solely responsible for supervision of a classroom. Any assignment that is currently held by a certified employee shall not be filled upon a vacancy by non-certificated personnel. The certificated position shall be restored the following school year.
