Nondiscrimination Policy. ‌ (a) Nondiscrimination. Neither the University nor the UFF will discriminate against any Faculty Member based upon race, color, sex/gender (this also includes gender identity), sexual orientation, religious creed, national origin, age, veteran status, disability, political affiliation, or marital status, nor will the University or the UFF abridge any rights of Faculty related to union activity granted under Chapter 447, Florida Statutes, including but not limited to the right to assist or to refrain from assisting the UFF. Personnel decisions will be based on job-related criteria and performance.

Nondiscrimination Policy. A. The Foundation is committed to equality of opportunity to all, and to the belief that its best interests are served when a broad spectrum of backgrounds and talent is brought to bear upon its activities. Accordingly, the Foundation prohibits discrimination, harassment and bullying against any person because of age, ancestry, color, disability or handicap, national origin, race, religion, gender, sexual or affectional orientation, gender identity, gender expression, appearance, matriculation, political affiliation, marital status, veteran status or any other characteristic protected by law. The Foundation expects that its Directors, Officers, Committee Members, service providers, employees, grant recipients and IEEE Organizational Units delegated expenditure authority per Foundation Policy 3.3.C, when and where ever those individuals are conducting Foundation business or participating in Foundation events or activities, shall maintain an environment free of discrimination, including harassment, bullying, or retaliation.

As used in this Section 24.3.2, the term “Domestic Partner” shall mean any person who has a currently registered Domestic Partnership with a governmental body pursuant to state or local law authorizing such registration, “Gender Identity” shall mean a person’s various individual attributes as they are understood to be masculine and/or feminine, and “Sexual Orientation” shall mean the status of being lesbian, gay, bisexual or heterosexual.

Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitutes sexual harassment when (1) submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual's employment or academic performance or evaluation, (2) submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as the basis for employment or academic decisions affecting such individual, or (3) such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual’swork or academic performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working or learning environment.
