Occasional Sick Leave. Technicians and Academic Counsellors who have completed their probationary period are entitled to up to ten days off with pay per annum (prorated for less than Maximum-Load) when they are unable to attend work for medical reasons. They shall accumulate ten (10) sick leave credits per year of active employment (prorated for less than Maximum-Load) to be used for this purpose. Such credits are not accrued beyond the current academic year.

Occasional Sick Leave. Full-Time Employees shall be entitled to twelve (12) occasional sick days per calendar year. Part-time employees, who are regularly scheduled for a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours bi-weekly and have completed their probationary period, will be entitled to three (3) sick days per calendar year. One day of sick leave shall be equal to seven and one-half (7½) hours pay at the employee’s regular straight time rate of pay. Such leave is not accumulated from year to year.
Occasional Sick Leave. 34.01 Pay for sick leave is for the sole purpose of protecting full-time employees on the active payroll of the Gallery who have completed their probationary period against loss of income when they are legitimately sick or disabled (non-occupational illness or disability) and sick leave shall be granted to employees on the following basis:
Occasional Sick Leave. Employees shall be entitled to twelve (12) occasional sick leave days per fiscal year (April 1 to March 31). Such leave is not accumulated from year to year. An employee who is absent on occasional sick leave for five (5) or more consecutive working days may be required to provide a certificate from a medical practitioner certifying that he/she was unable to carry out his/her duties due to illness. Where there appears to be a trend in an employee’s use of occasional sick leave benefits, the employee’s supervisor may meet with the employee to discuss the situation. Such discussion shall not be considered disciplinary. If following that discussion, the sick leave usage trend appears to be continuing, the Employer may require the employee to provide a certificate from a medical practitioner for any occasional sick leave of four (4) or more consecutive working days or after an accumulation of seven (7) or more uncertified sick days in any fiscal year.
Occasional Sick Leave. On April 1st of each year each permanent employee shall be credited with five (5) credits of sick leave and each temporary employee shall be credited with three (3) credits of sick leave and shall then accumulate sick leave credits at the rate of seven (7) hours (1 credit) for each period of 162.5 hours paid, to a maximum of 84 hours (twelve (12) credits) for permanent employees and to a maximum of 42 hours (six (6) credits) for temporary employees. Such leave is not accumulated from year to year. It shall be the responsibility of the employee to advise his/her manager or delegate at the beginning of or prior to the first day of any such absence whenever possible. Sick leave is to be utilized in case of personal illness/appointments or illness/appointments related to an immediate family member. An employee who is absent on Occasional Sick Leave for three (3) or more consecutive working days may be required to provide a medical certificate from the employee’s treating physician who examined her/him during the period of absence. Where an employee appears to be taking sick leave benefits in a pattern that could suggest abuse, the Employer may require the employee to provide a medical certificate to substantiate any requests for future sick leave. Failure to provide such a medical certificate will result in loss of these benefits for any unsubstantiated days.

  • Additional Sick Leave In unusual cases of prolonged illness the Township Committee may, by resolution, grant Sick Leave at one-half (½) rate of pay to an Employee over the time allowed and available for use in Section 2. hereinbefore set forth in this Article to a maximum of twenty-six

  • Personal Sick Leave The following provisions will apply to all employees (other than casual employees) covered by this Agreement.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Unpaid Sick Leave The City Manager shall, upon the advice and recommendation of the City physician, grant unpaid sick leave for up to one (1) year upon application of any employee whose paid sick leave is exhausted. Any extension of such leave shall be subject to the Civil Service Board rules.

  • Short Term Sick Leave 8. Each school year, an employee absent beyond the eleven (11) sick leave days paid at 100% of salary, as noted in section 2 above, shall be entitled up to an additional one hundred and twenty (120) days short term sick leave to be paid at a rate of 90 per cent of the employee’s regular salary if the employee is absent due to personal illness including medical appointments as per the collective agreement provisions and practices in effect as at August 31, 2012.

  • Sick Leave Use Sick leave will be charged in one-tenth (1/10th) of an hour increments and may be used for the following reasons:

  • Sick Leave Buyback The Board agrees to buy sick leave days back from those teachers who have more than one hundred (100) accumulated sick leave days at the end of a school year. The value of each unused day will be determined based on the formula in Section A above. The total amount calculated will be deposited into the teacher’s Section 401(a) account. If a teacher has in excess of 6 personal days, the days will be transferred to the total sick day accumulation for this calculation. The number of days will be figured using the above chart in this section.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.
