Out of Classification. When an employee is assigned to replace an employee in a higher rated position, the employee shall receive the higher rate of pay.
Out of Classification. Custodians assigned to the duties of the Head Custodian will be paid out of the title pay after the fifth (5th) consecutive day retroactive to the first (1st) day.

When an employee is assigned to perform substantially all the duties of a classification with a higher rate of pay than his/her own regular classification, while so assigned the employee will be paid at the entry pay step of that classification, or five (5%) percent out-of-class pay, whichever is the greater.

Out of Classification. PAY Employees required to work in a higher classification on a temporary basis, i.e. to fill a vacant position due to long term vacation or disability of an employee, long term illness or during the period a position is being permanently filled. The employee will be paid at the higher rate of pay for all hours worked in such higher classification for a period not to exceed ten (10) weeks. At that time, the situation will be reviewed and the position will be filled as a vacancy. This provision is not intended to address short term leave situations of two weeks or less in duration. This provision shall not apply to those employees who are in training (see Section 15.6 of this Agreement).
Out of Classification. Out-of-classification assignments are made by management in consultation with the affected employee. Prior approval is required by the immediate supervisor, department manager, and the Associate Vice Chancellor of Human Resources. Out-of-classification is defined as performing 100% of the duties in a higher level classification. A worker may be assigned duties in a higher level classification and still continue to perform some or all of the duties in the worker’s regular classification. For clarity and distinction, this is considered additional duties assigned, not out-of-classification work. The worker will be compensated accordingly, but the additional pay will not be reportable under CalPERS rules and regulations.
15.3.3.1 If a worker is temporarily assigned to perform higher level duties not reasonably consistent with those described for his/her regular job class or which are ordinarily performed by a supervisor, for more than five
Out of Classification a. When a temporary vacancy or vacancies arise above the classification of Firefighter, and it has been predetermined that said vacancy or vacancies will not exceed four (4) hours, the Fire Chief may make out-of-classification assignments to the higher classification from personnel within the affected station. During such out-of-classification assignments the individual so assigned shall receive the salary of the first step of that higher classification or five percent (5%) of the employee's regular base salary, whichever is greater but not to exceed the maximum of the higher classification.
b. Vacancies exceeding four (4) hours shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of Section 11.5, Overtime and Call-Back Pay.
c. For the purposes of training the classification of Firefighter only, vacancies exceeding eight (8) hours shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of Section 11.5, Overtime and Call-Back Pay.
d. If there is a certified eligibility list for the classifications of Fire Captain and Fire Engineer, the out-of-classification assignment to these classifications will be limited to the first sixty (60) candidates on the eligibility list.
Out of Classification. 13.1 The EMPLOYER agrees to pay EMPLOYEES, as part of the bargaining unit, fifty percent (50%) of the difference above their base rate of pay and the assigned out-of class base rate of pay for the hours whenever working out-of-class for a duration of more than one week. It is understood that the determination as to whom, when, for how long and how many persons will work out-of-class assignments, is solely at the discretion of the EMPLOYER.

Out of Classification. An employee temporarily assigned the full duties and responsibilities of a higher salary level position for more than five (5) days shall be paid five percent (5%) above his/her hourly rate or the first step of the higher classification, whichever is the greatest, retroactive to the first day of the temporary assignment. An exception is Head Xxxx positions in Food Services. Anyone working in a Head Xxxx position, from the first hour will be paid the additional five percent (5%).
