The "Overtime Authorized" clause defines the conditions under which employees are permitted to work hours beyond their standard schedule. Typically, this clause specifies that overtime must be pre-approved by a supervisor or manager and may outline the process for requesting and recording such hours. Overtime Authorized. All overtime shall be pre-authorized by the employee's immediate Supervisor. All time worked beyond the normal full-time work day referred to in Article 9, the normal full-time work week, or on a holiday, shall be considered overtime. Employees may choose to take time off in lieu of overtime by mutual agreement with their supervisors. Employees must indicate their choice of pay or time off on their time-sheet. Overtime necessitated by community use of schools shall be exempted from this option. Overtime in excess of eighty (80) hours in any one year necessitated by heating requirements shall also be exempted from this option.

  • WORK AUTHORIZATIONS The State will issue work authorizations using the form included in Attachment D (Work Authorizations and Supplemental Work Authorizations) to authorize all work under this contract. The Engineer must sign and return a work authorization within seven (7) working days after receipt. Refusal to accept a work authorization may be grounds for termination of the contract. The State shall not be responsible for actions by the Engineer or any costs incurred by the Engineer relating to work not directly associated with or prior to the execution of a work authorization. Terms and conditions governing the use of work authorizations are set forth in Attachment A, General Provisions, Article 1.
