Overtime--Bus Drivers. 9.6.1 Equal opportunity will be afforded all Drivers to work overtime. Each sign-up for overtime shall be made on the basis of seniority. All drivers shall be given the opportunity to sign up for overtime twice each school year, unless the District finds it necessary to create another round of sign ups. The first sign up will be at the orientation meeting conducted prior to the start of the traditional school year. The first sign up will be effective the first day of the traditional school year and will run through December 31. The second round of sign ups will occur during the month of December. The second sign up will be effective upon the first day of school returning from winter recess break and will run through the last day of the traditional school year. After three (3) refusals in each semester, no further offer of overtime will be made. During each semester, all eligible drivers will be offered available overtime by using the current seniority roster. Once all the offers have been made during the specific sign up period subsequent offers of overtime will continue to be made by use of the seniority list and specialized qualifications (i.e. wheelchair, mountain, transit etc.,). be made to eligible Bus Drivers whose prior accumulation of overtime is lowest. 9.6.2 A refusal of overtime means any verbal or written statement(s) by the employee that he/she they does not wish to work an overtime assignment, or, by the failure of the employee to respond within the required time period stated on the overtime form. Refusals do not include authorized leaves of absence or verified attendance at special bus training or workshops, such as the Bus Rodeo, etc.

Overtime--Bus Drivers. For overtime worked on normal working days or on days of rest, bus drivers shall be paid as follows: i) Driving - at appropriate overtime rates; ii) Waiting Time - at straight time rates except for eight (8) hours' sleeping time and one (1) hour per meal which shall be without pay; iii) On a day where no driving and only waiting time occurs, a maximum of eight (8) hours at straight time. Bus drivers' necessary trip expenses will be paid at full cost on presentation of paid receipts. Over time for part time drives working less than eight (8) hours per day shall be: i) Straight time for hours worked between the employeesregularly assigned hours and eight (8) hours on a normal working day. ii) In accordance with Article 17 (A) for work beyond eight (8) hours on a normal working day. iii) In accordance with Article 17 (B) on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • Overtime Work A. Overtime pay is to be paid at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the basic hourly straight-time rate. B.   • Overtime Pay ‌ Overtime pay shall be paid to the employee on the next paycheque after the expiration of the pay period in which the overtime was earned except as provided in Article 16.6 (Compensating Time Off) below.

  • Overtime Overtime will begin to accrue after sixty (60) hours in a two (2) week period averaged over the scheduling period determined by the local parties. Overtime will apply if the employee works in excess of the normal daily hours. Payment for overtime is as in Article 16.01.

  • Overtime Scheduling 1. Each employee interested in working overtime may volunteer by requesting, in writing, to be added to the voluntary overtime list within his/her building and/or the district-wide voluntary overtime list. They will also indicate whether they wish to work during their vacation period. Such written request to be added to or deleted from the overtime lists may be made at any time; however, if the employee is requesting to be deleted from the list(s), he/she shall not be allowed to rejoin the list(s) for a ninety (90) calendar day period. Such lists shall be maintained on a yearly basis, from September 1st to August 31st of each year. The employer will serve notice to the employees, by a memo into each work area, that overtime lists are being formulated, by August 15th of each year. 2. The list will be compiled for September with the volunteers listed in seniority order. Overtime shall be rotated among volunteers. The rotation shall be continuous through the year until a new list is compiled the following September. If an employee volunteers who was not on the list he/she shall be placed on the list according to his/her seniority and he/she shall be eligible to work overtime in accordance with the normal rotation. 3. To the extent possible, employees will be notified at least four (4) hours prior to the end of the shift of any overtime for that day and by noon on Friday for any Saturday overtime. Any employee who has volunteered to work overtime and is notified in accordance with this paragraph shall be obligated to work the overtime hours in their building unless excused by the supervisor. 4. Overtime assignments will be on a rotating schedule among the qualified employees within each classification who have expressly volunteered for such overtime work. The employer’s obligation to rotate overtime shall be satisfied by calling employees who are working at the time the overtime determination is made (i.e., not on vacation or other leave of absence) in seniority order and offering them the opportunity to work. 5. If there are insufficient volunteers available for any specific assignment, the employer may require the least senior employee in the division to perform the work. 6. Substantiated errors made in the rotation of overtime (Article XIII Section G.4) will be corrected on the basis of offering the by-passed employee an amount of overtime equal to the time lost due to the error of assignment. Depending on the number of hours involved, it is possible that this may take more than (1) one overtime offer/assignment. Acceptance of the compensatory overtime will not change the employees spot in the overtime rotation, thus the employee will remain eligible for overtime in the same rotation as before the error. The compensatory overtime will not be offered at such a time or in such a manner that would purposefully cause inconvenience or inability to the effected employee to comply. In the event the employee declines the offered overtime work, the employee shall forfeit any future claim to the overtime hours in dispute.

  • Overtime Meal Allowance Employees required to work more than two (2) hours overtime consecutive with a shift shall be provided with a meal by the Employer.

  • Shiftwork (A) Where the Employee would have received shift loadings had the Employee not been on leave during the relevant period and such loadings would have entitled the Employee to a greater amount than a loading of 17.5% of the payment under clause 23.1(c), then the shift loadings must be added to the payment under clause 23.1(c)(i) instead of the 17.5% loading. (B) Provided further that if the shift allowance would have entitled the Employee to a lesser amount than the loading of 17.5% then such loading of 17.5% shall be used for the purpose of calculating annual leave loading in lieu of the shift allowance.

  • Overtime Premium a) Time and one-half (1/2) shall be paid as follows: 1) For all hours worked over 8 (eight) hours per day. 2) For all hours worked over 40 (forty) hours per week. 3) For all hours worked on Sunday, unless part of the employees regularly scheduled workweek. b) Double time plus holiday pay shall be paid for all hours worked on holidays that are defined in this Agreement.

  • Overtime Description For Paid Holidays: Holiday pay for all holidays shall be prorated based two hours per day for each day worked in the holiday week, not to exceed 8 hours of holiday pay. For Thanksgiving week, the prorated share shall be 5 1/3 hours of holiday pay for each day worked in Thanksgiving week. Overtime Time and one half the regular rate after an 8 hour day.
