Pay for Grievance Time. When Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the grievance procedure take place, in whole or in part, during normal working hours, the College will pay for time actually lost from work in attending the grievance meetings during normal working hours by the Union representatives and the employees involved. Such payment will be at the employee’s regular straight-time hourly rate. The College shall not be required to pay for time lost in arbitration.
Pay for Grievance Time. Stewards and employee members of the Union Grievance Committee may assist in the settling of grievances under this Article, without loss of pay, provided that satisfactory arrangements can be made by the supervisor for handling their work before leaving their jobs for the purpose of handling grievances.
Pay for Grievance Time. Where Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the grievance procedure take place during working hours, time incurred during a scheduled work shift of the Union Xxxxxxx or any grievant as a result of their attending a grievance hearing or formal arbitration hearing during work hours will be fully paid release time from their work shift.
Pay for Grievance Time. Where Steps 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the grievance procedure take place during working hours, time incurred during a scheduled work shift of the Association President or his/her designee and/or any grievant as a result of their attending a grievance hearing or formal arbitration hearing during work hours will be fully paid release time from their work shift. Nothing herein shall be interpreted to direct or expect grievance hearings to be held during the Grievant(s)’ and/or any witness(es)’ and/or the Association President’s or his/her designee(s)’ work shift.
Pay for Grievance Time. Square One will endeavor to schedule grievance meetings during normal daytime business hours, subject to the Agency’s work requirements. Where meetings for Step 1 or Step 2 and arbitration as provided in this Article take place during normal working hours, Square One will pay for time actually and necessarily lost during normal working hours by the aggrieved Employee and by the Employee’s Union Xxxxxxx involved in the grievance meeting.
Pay for Grievance Time. Where Steps 1, 2 and 3 of the grievance procedure take place during workings hours, the University will pay for any regular straight-time wages actually lost by the Union representatives and the employee involved in the grievance meeting. The University shall not be bound to pay for the time lost in attending Step 4 of the grievance procedure. The Union agrees that this provision will not be abused and will be utilized in a reasonable manner. The grievance procedure and arbitration provided herein shall constitute the sole and exclusive method of determination, decision, adjustment or settlement between the parties of any and all grievances and the grievance and arbitration procedure provided herein shall constitute the sole and exclusive remedy to be utilized. An employee who feels aggrieved by an order to perform a certain task shall not refuse to perform the task; but shall perform the same and then submit his or her protest as a grievance. Otherwise, a refusal shall be grounds for discharge, but such discharge shall be subject to the grievance and arbitration procedure. The University shall have the right to initiate Steps 2 and 3 of the grievance procedure with respect to any grievance, dispute or difference. Such initiation shall be by letter from the University to the President of the Union with a copy of same to the Business Agent of the Union. The time limits specified in this section shall be deemed to be substantive provisions and failure to observe each and every such time limitation shall be a complete bar to any further action by reason of such grievance, unless extended by written consent signed by the University and the Union, which consent shall not be unreasonably withheld by either party. The terms “working day’ and ‘working days” wherever used in this section shall mean and include any calendar day other than a Saturday, Sunday or holiday.
Pay for Grievance Time. The Stewards and employee-members of the Union Grievance Committee shall be paid by the Company for a reasonable period of time spent during their regularly scheduled working hours in settling grievances under this Article and at their straight-time hourly rate of pay, provided, however, that before leaving their jobs for the purpose of handling grievances they must receive permission from their supervisor.
Pay for Grievance Time. No employee shall lose pay for time he spends during his regularly scheduled working hours in the processing of his own grievance, nor shall any Shop Xxxxxxx lose pay for time he spends during his regularly scheduled working hours in the processing of grievances; subject, however, to the requirements of Section 5.10. The Shop Committee shall not lose pay for the time spent by its members during regularly scheduled working hours in the processing of grievances in those instances where this contract provides that the Shop Committee shall consider said grievances and in the instances where the Shop Committee attends a meeting called by Management. Notwithstanding the foregoing, it is agreed that every effort will be made to keep the time spent in the processing of grievances by the employee, Xxxxxxx, or Shop Committee at a minimum.
Pay for Grievance Time. No employee shall lose pay for time he spends during his regularly scheduled working hours in the processing of his own grievance, nor shall the xxxxxxx involved or the employee-members of the Union Grievance Committee referred to in Step Three above lose pay for time they spend during their regularly scheduled working hours in the investigation or processing of grievances, provided that, the Laboratory shall not be obligated to pay for any time beyond a reasonable amount, as determined by the Laboratory, spent by employees in processing grievances. If, during the course of investigating a grievance or processing a grievance, a Union representative needs to converse with an employee during the Union representative's and/or an employee's working time, the Union representative must notify his or her and/or the employee's supervisor to arrange a meeting with the employee, as appropriate.
Pay for Grievance Time. No more than two (2) designated members of the Grievance Committee called upon to participate in any step of the grievance procedure shall be afforded time off without loss of pay from their regularly scheduled working hours.
