- PLAYGROUND DUTY. Where an employee is required to perform playground supervision, such supervision shall be counted in their hours worked and be so rostered as to allow a fair and reasonable midday meal break in accordance with Clause 27 – Rest Pauses and Meal Breaks..

- PLAYGROUND DUTY. Elementary classroom teachers will not be assigned playground or recess duty on any permanent, regular basis. In addition to the duty-free lunch recess, the district will provide one (1) 15- minute supervised recess daily for each regular elementary classroom teacher.

- PLAYGROUND DUTY. The parties shall form a joint labor/management committee to review issues with respect to playground duty. The committee shall evaluate the issue(s) and attempt to resolve them by mutual agreement. The composition of the joint/labor management committee shall be as follows: the Union and the District shall have three (3) representative(s) each. The initial meeting date of the joint labor/management committee shall occur not later than September 30, 2001. At the first meeting, the committee will establish at least two (2) additional meeting dates. This process does not waive the rights to process grievances on any issues raised in accordance with Article 24 Grievance Procedure.
- PLAYGROUND DUTY. It is the responsibility of the Board to provide adequate lunchroom and recess supervision for students over the lunch periods. Teachers assigned this duty will be compensated at the rate of $20.00 per clock hour if the assignment is beyond the normal teacher load.
- PLAYGROUND DUTY. 32.1 Where a teacher is required to perform playground supervision, such supervision shall be rostered as to allow a minimum of 30 minutes uninterrupted meal break.
32.2 Duties should be scheduled fairly and equitably between staff. A Part-Time Teacher’s duty allocation will be in the same proportion to their teaching load as that of a full-time teacher.

B. Each Building shall have a written procedure in place for indoor recess when weather requires. This plan shall address teacher planning time if needed.
