Purpose of Educator Evaluation. A) This contract language is locally negotiated and based on M.G.L., c.71, § 38; M.G.L. c.150E; the Educator Evaluation regulations, 603 CMR 35.00 et seq.; and the Model System for Educator Evaluation developed and which may be updated from time to time by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. See 603 CMR 35.02 (definition of model system). In the event of a conflict between this collective bargaining agreement and the governing laws and regulations, the laws and regulations will prevail.

Purpose of Educator Evaluation. A) The purpose of the Belmont Public Schools’ Educator Evaluation Procedure is to provide for the continuous growth of staff and the continuous improvement in the quality of education for all students. Evaluation of administrator performance is an essential component of an effective educational program, as well as a requirement of the state law and regulations (MGL c. 71, s. 38; 603 CMR 35.00). We believe that professional growth and development, and the resulting improvement in the quality of education, are best achieved by a cooperative process, characterized by mutual respect, teamwork and trust. Purpose of Educator Evaluation. The purpose of our Educator Evaluation System is to promote student learning and achievement, by providing Educators with feedback for growth. Evaluators are expected to make frequent unannounced visits to classrooms and give targeted constructive feedback to Educators. Feedback and ratings are based on observations and discussions of practice, examination of evidence, and analysis of multiple measures of student learning, growth and achievement in relation to the Standards and Indicators of Effective Teaching Practice.

  • Using Student feedback in Educator Evaluation ESE will provide model contract language, direction and guidance on using student feedback in Educator Evaluation by June 30, 2013. Upon receiving this model contract language, direction and guidance, the parties agree to bargain with respect to this matter.

  • Department of Education The School shall administer all student testing as required by applicable federal and state laws, rules, policies, and procedures.

  • Program Evaluation The School District and the College will develop a plan for the evaluation of the Dual Credit program to be completed each year. The evaluation will include, but is not limited to, disaggregated attendance and retention rates, GPA of high-school-credit-only courses and college courses, satisfactory progress in college courses, state assessment results, SAT/ACT, as applicable, TSIA readiness by grade level, and adequate progress toward the college-readiness of the students in the program. The School District commits to collecting longitudinal data as specified by the College, and making data and performance outcomes available to the College upon request. HB 1638 and SACSCOC require the collection of data points to be longitudinally captured by the School District, in collaboration with the College, will include, at minimum: student enrollment, GPA, retention, persistence, completion, transfer and scholarships. School District will provide parent contact and demographic information to the College upon request for targeted marketing of degree completion or workforce development information to parents of Students. School District agrees to obtain valid FERPA releases drafted to support the supply of such data if deemed required by counsel to either School District or the College. The College conducts and reports regular and ongoing evaluations of the Dual Credit program effectiveness and uses the results for continuous improvement.
