Religious Holiday Observance. Any employee may request personal leave or vacation leave when observance of their religious holiday requires absence from work. The request to their supervisor should be made one (1) week in advance. The employer will make every effort to grant the request.

Religious Holiday Observance. Two (2) recognized official religious holidays during the school year may be deducted from accrued sick leave, and a third day may be approved at the discretion of the Superintendent under the following conditions.

Religious Holiday Observance. In addition to the listed holidays set forth above, full time members shall be granted up to three (3) non-attendance days with full pay in a school year for the observance of religious holidays, which shall not be considered an absence and shall not be counted against the member’s benefit days, provided that the employee provides written notice to their direct supervisor or the Principal at least two (2) days in advance of non-attendance for the holiday. Bargaining unit members shall only be required to identify that the requested day of leave for the observance of a religious holiday is for a reason of faith or conscience, including any organized activity conducted under the auspices of a religious denomination, church, or other faith-based organization or for a similar purpose. Part time employees may request such days off without pay.

  • Religious Observance 32.01 The Employer shall make every reasonable effort to accommodate an employee who requests time off to fulfill his or her religious obligations.

  • Religious Observance Leave Temporary, contract and regular faculty may be granted a leave with pay for special religious observances of the employee's faith falling on a regular workday.

  • Religious Holidays When a religious holiday, not observed as a holiday, as provided in Section 2 above, falls on a supervisor's regularly scheduled work day, the supervisor shall be entitled to that day off to observe the religious holiday. Time to observe religious holidays shall be taken without pay except where the supervisor has sufficient accumulated vacation leave or accumulated compensatory time, or, by mutual consent, is able to make the time up. Supervisors shall notify the Appointing Authority at least twenty-eight (28) calendar days prior to the leave.
