Rostered Days. Off (RDOs)
Rostered Days. Off To allow greater flexibility in the taking of rostered days off and facilitate the most efficient use of labour.
(i) Subject to consultation and agreement, employees may be requested to defer their rostered days off;
(ii) Rostered Days Off may be banked to a maximum of five days, after consultation and agreement between the Employer and Employee. The Union will be informed of this;
(iii) Subject to the Company agreeing, rostered days off may be banked to be taken with the next or subsequent RDOs, or taken on a day as agreed with the Company. Nothing in this clause entitles the Company to direct a worker to take a single RDO on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday;
(iv) Banked rostered days off must be taken within 12 months of banking;
(v) The taking of RDOs may be split with a proportion of the employees taking their RDO on a Monday and a proportion on a Friday in any week;
(vi) Such work will be paid for at ordinary time rates of pay;
(vii) The 38-hour RDO dates will apply as issued in the CFMEU publication setting out the full details.

Provided however that the amount of notice required under this clause may be altered by mutual agreement between the Manager and the employee.

(a) In the case of an employee whose ordinary hours of work are arranged in such a manner as to entitle the employee to a rostered day off, the weekday to be taken off will not coincide with a holiday fixed in accordance with this clause. In the event that a holiday is prescribed after an employee has been given or gives notice of a weekday off and the holiday falls on such weekday, the employer will allow the employee to take an alternative weekday off in lieu of the holiday.
Rostered Days. Off (RDO)

(ii) RDOs may be banked to a maximum of 12 days over a 52 week period.
(iii) Where RDOs are not banked the company may, due to operational requirements, require an employee not to take the RDO during the period it accrues. In this event, a replacement RDO shall be taken on the first practicable day available for the taking of such replacement RDO.
(iv) Otherwise an employee's normal RDO may be changed during the currency of a roster period by agreement between the company and the individual employee. In the absence of such agreement 48 hours notice of such alteration shall be given to the employee.
(v) Where a roster is based on 8 hours work each day, payment shall be for 7 hours 36 minutes per day with accrual as entitlement for a RDO being made on the basis of a nineteen day period where an employee works within the work cycle typically not exceeding 28 consecutive days (or longer by agreement) at 24 minutes per day.
Rostered Days. All employees shall accrue an entitlement to a paid rostered day off with the passage of nineteen days, whether they are working or on paid leave. The Rostered Days Off shall be paid at the employee's current ordinary rate of pay. Payment shall not be paid to an employee in lieu of an RDO except on termination of employment.
Rostered Days. OFF 22.1 The employer and all employees agree to the adoption of a more planned approach to the taking of accumulated Rostered Days Off (RDO’s) granted under Clause 17. From the certification of this Agreement, RDO’s will be formally programmed, any variation to the program must be approved by the employees direct Manager and no variations will be approved so as to ‘bank’ RDO’s so that they may be taken over continuous days. Rostered Days. OFF This agreement allows for the flexibility of taking the Rostered Day Off at a time to be negotiated between the employer, the individual employee, and where relevant, all members of a discrete work group, which meets the needs of the business operations.
5.3.1 The RDO bank is different from the TOIL bank of time.
5.3.2 An employee may "bank" up to a maximum of five (5) rostered days off, to be taken later at a convenient time, and/or in conjunction with annual leave, by mutual agreement between the employer and employee.
5.3.3 Where an employee agrees to work on the RDO and then is required to work in excess of their normal hours during that RDO, any additional hours worked shall be banked as TOIL as provided for in Clause 5.1.2.
5.3.4 The RDO bank should be cleared by the 30th June annually or at a time mutually agreed in writing between the employer and employee if the employee is to take time off after 30 June.
5.3.5 This agreement recognises that flexibility with the taking/and or payment of RDO’s will vary dependant on special grant funded project work as negotiated between the employer and employee (s).
