Short-Term Suspension. If the suspension is for ten percent (10%) or less of the scheduled competitions/games of the in season activity or non-seasonal activities, as well as non competitive organizations, the superintendent shall hear any evidence offered by the student and the principal and render a decision on the appeal within ten (10) days of the appeal. On appeal the superintendent may modify the suspension, establish new dates or provide for more or less days of suspension. The decision of the superintendent shall be final, unless the decision by the superintendent is to suspend the student for more than ten percent (10%) of the scheduled competitions/games of the in season activity or non-seasonal activities, as well as non competitive organizations, in which event, a further appeal may be made to the Board of Education as provided below.

Short-Term Suspension. Students may be excluded by the Principal or the Principal's designee from school or any school function for a period of up to five school days (short-term suspension) on the following grounds: a. Conduct that constitutes grounds for expulsion, whether the conduct occurs on or off school grounds; or b. Other violations of rules and standards of behavior adopted by the Board of Education or the administrative or teaching staff of the school, which occur on or off school grounds, if such conduct interferes with school purposes or there is a nexus between such conduct and school. The following process will apply to short-term suspensions: a. The Principal or the Principal's designee will make a reasonable investigation of the facts and circumstances. A short-term suspension will be made upon a determination that the suspension is necessary to help any student, to further school purposes, or to prevent an interference with school purposes. b. Prior to commencement of the short-term suspension, the student will be given oral or written notice of the charges against the student. The student will be advised of what the student is accused of having done, an explanation of the evidence the authorities have, and be afforded an opportunity to explain the student's version of the facts. c. Within 24 hours or such additional time as is reasonably necessary following the suspension, the Principal or administrator will send a written statement to the student and the student's parent or guardian describing the student's conduct, misconduct or violation of the rule or standard and the reasons for the action taken. d. An opportunity will be given to the student, and the student's parent or guardian, to have a conference with the Principal or administrator ordering the short-term suspension before or at the time the student returns to school. The Principal or administrator shall determine who in addition to the parent or guardian is to attend the conference. e. A student who on a short-term suspension shall not be permitted to be on school grounds without the express permission of the Principal.
Short-Term Suspension a. After consultation with Human Resources, the President, Vice Chancellor, Chancellor, or designee, may immediately suspend a unit member withoutpay for up to and including five (5) working days. In such cases, the Chancellor,Vice Chancellor, President or designee shall orally notify the unit member of the reason(s) for the suspension and the unit member shall be allowed the opportunity to respond orally at that time. b. Within a reasonable time after the suspension, written charges will be prepared and served upon the unit member. The Governing Board shall make its determination to ratify, reject, or modify the suspension at the next available Board meeting after the suspension. If the Board upholds the suspension, the unit member shall be notified in writing of the Board's decision. c. The decision of the Board shall be final unless the unit member requests a hearing in writing within fourteen (14) calendar days after notice of the Board's action has been served. If the unit member requests a hearing, the Personnel Commission shall conduct a hearing within fourteen (14) calendar days.

Any at-home suspension includes the denial of admission to or entry upon real or personal property that is owned, leased, rented, or controlled by Kalama School District.

  • Short Term Leave Members who are LTD trustees and Union stewards or designates may apply in writing to the Employer for short term leaves of absence for; attendance at union conventions, union courses, and union committees. The employee will give reasonable notice, which will be at least seven (7) days. The Employer will make every reasonable effort to accommodate such leave, and shall grant it subject to the ability to maintain the operational needs of the department. With the exception of members of the Union's executive, the employer is not required to grant more than twenty (20) days LOA per calendar year under this provision.

  • Short Term Leaves Short Term Leaves are designed to allow Teachers who have to apply for short term personal leaves of absence not otherwise covered by this Collective Agreement.

  • Short Term Paid Leaves The parties agree that the issue of Short Term Paid Leaves had been addressed at the Central Table and the provisions shall remain status quo to provisions in current local collective agreements. For clarity, any leave of absence in the 2008-12 Collective Agreement, that utilizes deduction from sick leave, for reasons other than personal illness shall be granted without loss of salary or deduction from sick leave, to a maximum of five (5) days per school year. Local collective agreements that have more than (5) days shall be limited to five (5) days. These days shall not be used for the purpose of sick leave nor shall they be accumulated from year-to-year. Such provisions shall not be subject to local bargaining or mid-term amendments between local parties. Notwithstanding this stipulation, local collective agreement terms will need to align with the terms above.

  • Short Term Upon written request from the Executive Director of AFSCME Council 75 to DAS Labor Relations Unit and the Agency’s Human Resource Manager, up to four (4) Presidents/designees from AFSCME Council 75 Central Table participating Agencies shall be given release time from his/her position for a period of time up to three (3) months for the performance of Union duties related to the collective bargaining relationship. Only one (1) employee from a bargaining unit and a total of four (4) employees from all Central Table participating bargaining units may be on such leave at any one (1) period in time. Such requests will be granted unless the affected Agency can demonstrate that the employee’s absence would adversely impact the operating needs of the employee’s work unit. If granted, such time may also be taken on an intermittent basis. AFSCME shall, within thirty (30) days of payment to the employee, reimburse the State for payment of appropriate salary, benefits, paid leave time, pension, and all other employer-related costs. Where this reimbursement is expressly prohibited by law or funding source, the employee shall be granted a leave of absence but the Employer will not be responsible for continuing to pay the employee’s salary and benefits.

  • Short Term Disability Plan The administration of the Short Term Disability Plan and the payment of benefits under this Plan shall be handled by the Company.

  • Short Term Disability The Employer agrees to provide Short Term Disability benefits to all active full-time employees from the first (1st) day of an accident or the first (1st) full-time day of hospitalized or the fourth (4th) day of sickness. The Plan will pay sixty-six and two thirds percent (66 2/3%) of basic earnings for the first two (2) weeks, then Unemployment Insurance will pay fifteen (15) weeks, then the Plan will resume payments for thirty-five (35 weeks).

  • SHORT TERM EXTENSION In the event a replacement Contract has not been issued, this Contract may be extended unilaterally by the State for an additional period of up to one (1) month upon notice to the Contractor with the same terms and conditions as the original Contract including, but not limited to, quantities (prorated for such one month extension), prices, and delivery requirements. With the concurrence of the Contractor, the extension may be for a period of up to three (3) months in lieu of one (1) month. However, this extension terminates should a replacement Contract be issued in the interim.

  • Suspension Period (a) The Company may suspend the use of a prospectus that is part of a Registration Statement for up to 30 consecutive days (or such shorter period as the Company determines in good faith is necessary under the circumstances, with extensions beyond such shorter period up to the 30-day maximum as may be required after consultation with counsel) from the date of the Suspension Notice (as defined below) in any given 12-month period, and therefore suspend sales of Registrable Securities available for sale pursuant to such Registration Statement (such period, the “Suspension Period”) by providing written notice to each Holder if the Company’s board of directors determines in its reasonable good faith judgment that such suspension is in the best interests of the Company. (b) In the case of an event that causes the Company to suspend the use of a Registration Statement as set forth in Section 3(a) above (a “Suspension Event”), the Company shall promptly give a written notice to the Holders (a “Suspension Notice”) to suspend sales of the Registrable Securities (but shall not contain any material non-public information concerning the Company) and that such suspension shall continue only for so long as the Suspension Event is continuing. A Holder shall not effect any sales of the Registrable Securities pursuant to such Registration Statement (or such filings) at any time after it has received a Suspension Notice from the Company and prior to receipt of an End of Suspension Notice (as defined below). Each Holder agrees that such Holder shall treat as confidential the receipt of the Suspension Notice and shall not disclose the information contained in such Suspension Notice without the prior written consent of the Company until such time as the information contained therein is or becomes available to the public generally, other than as a result of disclosure by the Holder in breach of the terms of this Agreement; provided, that the foregoing will not prohibit the Holder from trading in the Registrable Securities solely by virtue of having received a Suspension Notice and the information contained therein. A Holder may recommence effecting sales of the Registrable Securities pursuant to the Registration Statement (or such filings) following further written notice to such effect (an “End of Suspension Notice”) from the Company, which End of Suspension Notice shall be given by the Company to the Holders promptly following the conclusion of any Suspension Event.

  • Short-Term Leave and Disability Plan Top up i. Teachers accessing STLDP will have access to any unused Sick Leave Days from their last year worked for the purpose of topping up salary to one hundred percent (100%) under the STLDP. ii. This top-up is calculated as follows: Eleven (11) days less the number of sick leave days used in the most recent year worked. iii. Each top-up from ninety percent (90%) to one hundred percent (100%) requires the corresponding fraction of a day available for top- up. iv. In addition to the top-up bank, top-up for compassionate reasons may be considered at the discretion of the board on a case by case basis. The top-up will not exceed two (2) days and is dependent on having two (2) unused Short Term Paid Leave Days in the current year. These days can be used to top-up salary under the STLDP. v. When Teachers use any part of an STLDP day they may access their top up bank to top up their salary to one hundred percent (100%).
