Sick Hours. Employees hired before January 1, 2009, with one (1) or more years of service with the Company are entitled to a maximum of forty-eight (48) hours if the employee works an eight (8) hour shift or fifty (50) hours if the employee works a ten (10) hour shift. Employees hired after January 1, 2009, are entitled to sick hours in accordance with the following schedule: Service Time Number of Sick Hours For 8 Hour Employees Number of Sick Hours For 10 Hour Employees Less than 1 year 0 0 More than 1 year; less than 3 16 20 More than 3 years; less than 5 32 30 More than 5 years 48 50 Sick hours become available each January 1. An employee may use sick time in half-day increments of either four (4) or five (5) hours depending on the employees shift of either eight (8) or ten (10) hours. Employees may either sell back or bank any unused sick hours earned in a calendar year at the end of such calendar year. Unused sick hours will be paid at the employee's rate of pay and work shift (i.e., eight-hour or ten-hour) as of the last day such employee worked in that calendar year. Employees are not entitled to pay for any unused sick hours earned in a calendar year at termination or resignation. Unused sick hours may accumulate from one year to the next up to a maximum of two- hundred (200) hours. Employees are entitled to pay for any accumulated, banked sick days upon sickness, termination, or resignation.
Sick Hours. Section 1. Non-sworn, non-exempt police personnel and aviation personnel employed by the City prior to January 1, 2002, who chose to continue under the “old sick time program,” shall earn four (4) sick hours every two (2) weeks. Accumulated sick hours shall be credited at the end of each pay period. Sick hours are to be used for actual illness or injury or the prescribed treatment or therapy of said illness or injury, which prevents the employee from reporting to work. Sick hours may also be used for the employee to attend to the illness, injury or prescribed treatment or therapy of an employee’s spouse, parent or child. Sick hours may be used in increments of one (1) hour. An employee using more than twenty-four (24) consecutive sick hours, or the use of any sick hours the day before or the day after a holiday, may be required to present a physician’s statement or other proof of illness upon the employee’s return to work, in order to receive pay for the claimed sick hours and/or holiday pay. Employees covered by this section who have accumulated more than four hundred eighty (480) hours of sick time, with the approval of the department head, may use hours in excess of 480 for personal business. Accumulated sick hours up to a maximum of six hundred and forty (640) hours shall be paid to the employee upon separation from employment for any reason except discharge for cause, when the employee resigns or retires at age 62 or older with five (5) continuous years of employment, or at any age with fifteen (15) years of continuous service with the City.
Sick Hours. Eligible paid sick hours shall be calculated to a maximum of seven hours per day.

  • Overtime Hours Except as otherwise provided in this section, all hours worked in excess of the established work day, before or after an employee's regular scheduled shift, or on any regularly scheduled day off, shall be considered overtime. All paid vacation time, paid holidays, paid sick leave, compensatory time off, and paid leaves of absence shall be considered as "time worked" for purposes of this Article. Part-time employees whose established work day is less than eight (8) hours shall not be considered to be working overtime until having completed eight (8) hours of work.

  • Sick Days Employees will be provided with 6 sick days per calendar year. Sick days are paid at 75% of the employee’s step rate.

  • Sick Leave Verification The Employer will not require verification for absences of less than 3 consecutive work days. Such verification or proof may be given to the supervisor/manager or Human Resources according to departmental policy. The Employer will not make unreasonable requests for sick leave verification.

  • Sick Leave Days Subject to paragraphs d) i-vi below, permanent full-time Teachers will be allocated eleven (11) sick days at one hundred percent (100%) salary in each school year. Teachers who are less than full-time shall have their sick leave allocation pro-rated.

  • Holidays Worked When an employee works on a calendar holiday, he/she shall receive payment of the holiday at the regular rate and in addition, at the discretion of the Employer, (1) be paid at the rate of time and one half for hours actually worked on the holiday or (2) be given compensatory time off equal to one and one half the number of hours actually worked.

  • Sick a. Except as otherwise may be provided in this Article, the Principal shall be entitled to accrue and use sick leave as provided in the regulations of the Alaska Department of Education, 4 AAC 15.040. At the beginning of the work year, the Principal shall be pre-credited with the sick leave days anticipated to be accrued during the year. The value of pre-credited days in excess of accrual shall be deducted from the Principal’s final paycheck upon termination. The Principal shall be responsible for notifying the immediate supervisor as far in advance of the use of sick leave as possible. A statement by an attending physician or health aide may be required for sick leave, at the discretion of the immediate supervisor or Superintendent.

  • Hours For the purposes of an unpaid 7.5-hour shift, the deduction from pay shall equate to 9.375 hours.

  • Shift Hours All shifts assigned by the Employer must conform with the following guidelines:

  • Work Hours Except in emergencies, the standard work week of full-time unit employees shall normally consist of five (5) days of eight (8) hours each, exclusive of lunch hour. Each employee shall be assigned regular starting and ending times, which shall not be changed without prior notice. Should an employee be required to work during his/her lunch hour, the length of such interruption shall be counted as time worked unless other arrangements are made with his/her supervisor.

  • Extra Hours (i) (a) Any additional hours beyond base hours shall be offered in a fair and impartial manner among "A" list part-time employees in the classification and in the geographical location in which the additional hours are required. Each zone and bureau and One Yonge Street shall be considered separate geographical locations. A part-time employee who is scheduled to work additional hours beyond the base hours (under the terms of Article 7) and who does not work those hours due to sickness shall be paid for such hours under the application of the sick leave provisions under Article 13 and Clause (2405).
