Sick Leave/Personal Day. Once probation has been completed, employees shall receive five (5) paid personal/ sick days per contract year April 1st to March 31st following ratification. Sick days nor personal days cannot be carried over from year to year. Employees may be required to submit satisfactory proof to the Employer of any illness, or any non-occupational accident. For Personal days they must be scheduled with two (2) weeks prior to notice and for Sick Days a minimum of four (4) hours’ notice (or as soon as practicably possible) are required.

Sick Leave/Personal Day. (s) Sick Leave pay as provided in Article 38, Section 1, and the Na- tional Guidelines issued there under, will be paid on a daily basis for each day of absence due to sickness or accident of any employ- ee who has available Sick Leave, until his days of Sick Leave are exhausted. The personal day(s) will be paid in accordance with the above guidelines provided the employee notifies the employer no less than two (2) hours prior to the beginning of his/her scheduled work shift. Inclement weather days: In the event of a State or Federal “State of Emergency” declaration due to inclement weather, absences will not trigger automatic payment of sick/personal day, unless request- ed by the employee.

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Sick Leave Bonus For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.
