Sick Leave / Xxxxx's Leave. All employees shall be credited with 105 ordinary hours of sick/carer’s leave upon commencement of their employment and on each anniversary of employment for absences due to personal illness or injury. Any unused sick/carer’s leave will accrue from year to year. Where sick/carer’s leave is taken you will be paid as if at work and your accrual will reduce by your standard rostered hours for each day taken as sick or personal carer’s leave. Any employee must notify his/her supervisor as soon as the employee knows s/he will not be available for duty, as soon as practicable, of his/her inability to attend to work due to illness or the need to care for a family member, the nature of the illness and the estimated duration of the absence. Lack of such notification may disentitle an employee from receiving paid sick/xxxxx’s leave. An employee who is genuinely ill, incapacitated or required to care for a family member will be entitled to two single days absence without being required to provide a medical certificate or other evidence acceptable to the Company. On all other occasions, the employee must provide evidence of absence due to illness or injury to the satisfaction of the Company.

  • SICK LEAVE AND BEREAVEMENT LEAVE Section 1. a. Employees shall be eligible to use paid sick leave after 30 calendar days of service with the Employer. Employees shall earn sick leave as of their date of hire in accordance with the following schedule: Maximum Sick Leave Entitlement Per Year Sick Leave will be 37.5 Hr. Workweek: 82.5 Hrs.   • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Sick Leaves a. After the first year of full-time employment, a full-time faculty member who, by reason of personal illness or a medically certified disability is incapable of performing the regular duties of a faculty member, shall be entitled to a sick leave, with full pay (in lieu of contract salary which otherwise would be earned), for a period not to exceed six months. In no event, however, shall the University’s payment for sick leave exceed one-half (1/2) of the faculty member’s then prevailing annual contract salary. If the faculty member receives governmental disability benefits and/or workers’ compensation benefits during the period of absence, the faculty member shall be paid the difference between the benefits received and the benefits provided above.

  • Paid Sick Leave Employees shall earn and be granted paid sick leave according to the following provisions:

  • Sick Leave While on Vacation An employee who while on vacation is incapacitated for one (1) or more days due to personal illness or injury may charge such days to accrued sick leave. In such event, the employee promptly shall notify his department, and upon return to duty shall substantiate the need for, and use of, sick leave.

  • SICK LEAVE OF ABSENCE 25.01 Employees, who are permitted to go home due to non- occupational illness or injury, will not be paid for the remainder of their shift.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Vacation Leave A part-time employee shall earn vacation leave credits for each month in which the employee receives pay for at least twice the number of hours in the employee’s normal workweek, at the rate for years of service established in clause 34.02 of this Agreement, prorated and calculated as follows:

  • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • ANNUAL LEAVE (VACATION) A.
