Sick Leave/Xxxxx’s Leave. All employees shall be credited with 105 ordinary hours of sick/carer’s leave upon commencement of their employment and on each anniversary of employment for absences due to personal illness or injury. Any unused sick/carer’s leave will accrue from year to year. Where sick/carer’s leave is taken you will be paid as if at work and your accrual will reduce by your standard rostered hours for each day taken as sick or personal carer’s leave. Any employee must notify his/her supervisor as soon as the employee knows s/he will not be available for duty, as soon as practicable, of his/her inability to attend to work due to illness or the need to care for a family member, the nature of the illness and the estimated duration of the absence. Lack of such notification may disentitle an employee from receiving paid sick/xxxxx’s leave. An employee who is genuinely ill, incapacitated or required to care for a family member will be entitled to two single days absence without being required to provide a medical certificate or other evidence acceptable to the Company. On all other occasions, the employee must provide evidence of absence due to illness or injury to the satisfaction of the Company.

Sick Leave/Xxxxx’s Leave. Employees shall be granted leave of absence without deduction of pay on account of illness or injury on the basis of the following: (a) first year of employment service – 8 days until 1 January 2010 and 10 days thereafter; (b) second year of employment service - 10 days; and (c) third and later years of employment service - 12 days. An Employee with responsibilities in relation to members of their immediate family or household and who need their care and support are entitled to use their sick leave entitlement as Xxxxx’s Leave for such persons when they are ill. A manager may require an application for sick leave to be supported by a certificate from a registered medical practitioner. If the absence is greater than two days a medical certificate is required. This requirement extends to Carer’s Leave. Part-time employees are entitled to pro-rata sick leave. Xxxx leave accrues from year to year up to a maximum of 52 working weeks. XXXX will not pay out sick leave upon termination of employment.

Sick Leave/Xxxxx’s Leave. Council acknowledges the relationship between work and personal commitments and the importance of combining both to improve productivity. In order to achieve these goals sick leave arrangements will be amended as follows: 34.1 All full-time employees shall be entitled to 76 hours paid sick/carer’s leave per year or part thereof based on the portion of full time equivalent hours worked Part-time employees will be entitled to a pro rata amount. 34.2 Evidence to the satisfaction of Council may be required to be produced (to qualify for payment for the absence) in respect of sick/carer’s leave taken for more than two (2) consecutive days. 34.3 Council reserves the right to require satisfactory evidence for any single day absences. 34.4 As an incentive for accrual of sick/carer’s leave, an employee may elect to cash out one half of any unused sick/xxxxx’s leave accrued each year as at the 30 June each year, under the following arrangements: 34.4.1 To be entitled to this payment, an Employee must maintain a minimum of 760 sick/carer’s leave hours, despite the cash out. 34.4.2 If an Employee elects to cash out a portion of sick/carer’s leave in accordance with this Clause, the Employee may access that cashed out portion of sick/carer’s leave on a leave without pay basis whilst employed by the Council.

  • Sick Leave 1. Employees will be granted one (1) day for each month of their contract year. The days granted will be available as of the first official day of the school year or the contract, whichever is applicable. 2. Sick leave may be accrued to the amount earned which shall be shown on each salary check. 3. The Board may require proof of illness whenever there is reasonable cause to believe that an absence is not due to a bona fide illness. 4. Days of accrued sick leave may be used to assist in the health care of persons who live in the employee's household, or to care for a parent, spouse, or a child regardless of their residence or for other relatives requested in writing and approved by the Superintendent/Designee prior to the leave. The Board may require proof of illness under the same requirements as the employee’s illness. 5. The absences in excess of available sick leave, deductions from salary shall be at the rate of 1/182 for Food Services Employees and 1/189 for Food Services Managers in excess of the number provided. 6. Employees hired prior to July 1, 1997: Employee will be paid for unused sick days in the following manner: a. Payment for unused sick days will be made to the employee upon that employee’s early or full service retirement or, upon the employee’s death, to the employee’s estate. Employees eligible for early or full service retirement who resign from employment and do not receive a retirement benefit, shall forfeit all rights to payment for unused sick days. b. Employees, who have a balance of less than 250 unused sick days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to a maximum of 250 unused days at their average daily rate*. c. Employees who have a balance of unused sick days greater then 250 days as of June 30, 2002, will receive payment for 50% of the employee’s accumulated unused sick days up to their June 30, 2002, unused sick leave balance, at their average daily rate*. d. Payments for unused sick days in amounts greater than $5,000 will be paid in equal amounts over five consecutive years beginning with the year of retirement. e. Payments for unused sick days in the amount at $5,000 or less or for the death of an employee will be paid in a lump sum to the employee or the employee’s estate in the year of retirement or death.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client.   • Sick Leave Abuse ‌ When the Employer suspects sick leave abuse, the employee will be provided the opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding their sick leave use prior to disciplining the employee, or making reference to sick leave use in the employee’s performance evaluation. The Employer may not adopt or enforce any policy that counts the use of paid sick leave time as an absence that may lead to or result in disciplinary action for an authorized purpose. The Employer may not discriminate or retaliate against an employee for the use of paid sick leave for an authorized purpose.

  • Sick Leave During Leave of Absence (F/T) When an Employee is given leave of absence without pay for any reason, or is laid off on account of lack of work, he/she shall not continue to accumulate sick leave and shall not be entitled to receive pay for sickness for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her cumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such leave or lay-off.

  • Vacation, Holidays and Sick Leave During the Term, the Executive shall be entitled to paid vacation, paid holidays and sick leave in accordance with the Company's standard policies for its senior executive officers.
