Sick Time Payout. Years of service for this section shall be determined by the bargaining unit member’s current hire date. a. Good standing, for this section, shall be determined as a bargaining unit member resigning or retiring without charges pending. If a bargaining unit member has been notified that charges are pending against him/her then said bargaining unit member must give a minimum of sixty (60) days’ notice of his/her resignation or retirement date. If the bargaining unit member is terminated prior to his/her resignation or retirement date, the bargaining unit member will not be considered leaving in good standing. b. Any bargaining unit member who is within sixty (60) days of his/her DROP date and has been notified that charges are pending against him/her that, if sustained, would likely result in termination as decided at the sole discretion of the Sheriff or his designee, will not be considered leaving in good standing. If the charges are subsequently not sustained by the Professional Standards Committee (PSC), the records will be amended to reflect that the bargaining unit member left in good standing and the bargaining unit member will be entitled to his/her sick leave payout to be paid within thirty (30) days at the employee’s rate of pay at the time of separation. If the charges are subsequently sustained by the PSC, the PSC will then make a determination as to the level of discipline that would have been recommended had the employee still been employed with BSO. If the recommendation is anything less than termination, the records will be amended to reflect that the bargaining unit member left in good standing and the bargaining unit member will be entitled to his/her sick leave payout to be paid within thirty (30) days at the employee’s rate of pay at the time of separation. If the recommendation is for termination, the bargaining unit member will not be considered leaving in good standing.

Sick Time Payout. Members who have worked at Oakland University for thirty (30) years or more at the time of their separation from the University will receive one hundred percent (100%) pay out of their unused sick leave as of the effective date of separation but not to exceed a maximum of eight hundred (800) hours. They do not have to be sixty-five (65) years of age. Any employee hired after February 5, 2001 shall not be eligible for a sick time pay out. Employees meeting the foregoing conditions who are terminating their employment with the University between the first through the fifteenth day of the month will receive one-half (1/2) of that month’s sick leave accrual rounded to the nearest whole hour, and employees terminating between the sixteenth and the last day of the month will receive all of that month’s accrual.

Upon resignation, retirement, or termination due to privatization/outsourcing of the employee, beginning with the 25th month of service, the Employer shall pay 25% of all unused sick leave, computed according to the pay rate at the time of resignation or retirement. 2. Upon resignation, retirement, or termination due to privatization/outsourcing of the employee, who has completed at least 120 months of service, the Employer shall pay 75% of all unused sick leave computed according to the pay rate at the time of retirement. 3. Upon death of the employee, the Employer shall pay 50% of all unused sick leave, computed according to the pay rate at the time of death, to the employee's estate or beneficiary. 4. Upon retirement, death, resignation, or termination due to privatization/outsourcing of the employee, the Employer shall pay to the employee or the employee's estate 100% of all unused vacation days, computed according to the pay rate at the time of termination.

The employee would then accumulate time in the 8 hour position. The employee would be able to use the time accumulated as an 8 hour employee first, then time he had accumulated as a 24 hour employee. The employee’s payout will be based upon the value of the time remaining in his “24 hour” bank as determined above and the value of his “8 hour” bank at the time of his retirement, subject to the applicable limits provided in this Agreement.

  • Part-time Vacation Pay If the Employer currently has the computer systems’ capability to implement bi- weekly vacation pay, they shall do so by the start of the next vacation year or earlier. Those Employers with no computer capability will endeavour to implement bi- weekly vacation pay if there is no significant administrative burden, by the start of the next vacation year or earlier. If the Employer does not so implement, it will provide reasons in writing to the Union. Where possible without extensive programming changes, the amount of vacation pay will be separately identified on the pay stub.

  • Vacation Allowance Employees in permanent positions are entitled to vacation with pay. Accrual is based upon straight time hours of working time per calendar month of service and begins on the date of appointment to a permanent position. Increased accruals begin on the first of the month following the month in which the employee qualifies. Accrual for portions of a month shall be in minimum amounts of one (1) hour calculated on the same basis as for partial month compensation pursuant to Section 5.8 (Salary Reallocation and Salary Reallocation) of this MOU. Vacation credits may be taken in one (1) minute increments but may not be taken during the first six (6) months of employment (not necessarily synonymous with probationary status) except where sick leave has been exhausted; and none shall be allowed in excess of actual accrual at the time vacation is taken.

  • Sick Leave Bonus For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.
