Special Evaluations. 1. A special evaluation may be requested at any time, by any unit member. 2. An evaluator may give a special evaluation at any time. If "below standard" performance is noted in the special evaluation, the evaluation must contain a description of the "below standard" performance and specific direction for improvement. 3. The special evaluation shall contain a specific time frame for reviewing progress toward improvement which shall not exceed sixty (60) calendar days. 4. A follow-up evaluation and conference shall be held within ten (10) days of the time frame designated in accordance with 6.1. (B)(3) above. The follow-up evaluation shall be placed in the unit member’s personnel file within ten (10) days following the conference.

Special Evaluations. 23.4.1 An immediate supervisor may, at any time, issue to an employee a “Notice of Commendation” or a “Notice of Special Evaluation.” This can be used to help employees achieve higher aspirations and/or improve performance.
Special Evaluations. Additional use may be made of the evaluation procedure at the discretion of the administration, i.e. - to document outstanding performance, to document close supervision following an unsatisfactory evaluation, at the request of the employee, or upon employee resignation. The procedure followed for special evaluations shall be the same as annual evaluations.
Special Evaluations. At any time, a supervisor may, with the approval of the department head, issue to a unit member a “Notice of Commendation” or “Notice of Unsatisfactory Performance.” Such notices shall be made on prescribed forms and shall set forth specific reasons for recognition of outstanding or unsatisfactory service by the unit member. They shall be delivered to the unit member personally by the immediate supervisor or by certified mail. A copy of such notice shall be placed in the unit member's official personnel file and shall be available for review in connection with promotional examinations and disciplinary actions.
Special Evaluations. A unit member or their manager may request a special evaluation based upon a change in position, change in responsibilities (programs), or less than satisfactory performance. Prior to a unit member receiving a special evaluation for less than satisfactory performance, the unit member must have received a verbal notification and a memo outlining the unit member’s deficiency(ies). A manager shall provide the unit member with a memo stating the beginning and ending dates of the evaluation period and the reason(s) for the evaluation. If the special evaluation is for performance concerns, a specific work plan is required with expectations identified. The special evaluation process shall be conducted according to the principles and procedures defined in Section 5.4.
Special Evaluations. 1. The County may cause a special evaluation to be conducted for any employee when the management determines that such employee’s performance is less than satisfactory with respect to any or all of the duties, tasks, and/or responsibilities which have previously been presented to the employee in writing. 2. The special evaluation document shall set forth the specific areas, (duties/tasks/responsibilities) in which the employee is expected to improve during the special evaluation period. 3. Special evaluations shall be performed in thirty (30) to ninety (90) day continuous work intervals which period shall be considered an opportunity for the employee to improve his/her performance to an acceptable level. Management shall identify the areas of improvement necessary to correct the employee’s performance. 4. The employee shall be considered to be on a probationary status during the thirty (30) to ninety (90) day continuous work period following a special evaluation in which his/her performance ranks less than satisfactory. The employee shall be given a second special evaluation on the completion of the thirty (30) to ninety (90) day continuous work probationary period. In the event that an employee’s performance has not improved, as reflected by the second special evaluation, management, with the concurrence of the Director of Human Resources, may take the appropriate action of: (a) demoting the employee to a position of lesser responsibilities within his/her expected abilities. Employees must remain in this demoted position for one (1) year. days; or, (b) extending the special probationary period for another thirty (30) (c) terminating the services of the employee.
