Stewards' Rights. A. The State recognizes and agrees to deal with designated stewards or staff of CCPOA on all matters relating to the administration of this MOU. A written list of CCPOA stewards, broken down by department and designated area of primary responsibility, shall be furnished to the State immediately after their designation and CCPOA shall notify the State promptly of any changes of such stewards. CCPOA stewards shall not be recognized by the State until such lists or changes thereto are received. A CCPOA xxxxxxx’x “area of responsibility” means institution, office or building. However, the parties recognize that it may be necessary for CCPOA to assign a xxxxxxx responsibility for several small offices or buildings within a close proximity.
B. Upon request of an employee, or on behalf of a CCPOA-filed grievance, a CCPOA xxxxxxx may:
1. Investigate an employee grievance, including health and safety grievances, and assist in its preparation and presentation, provided it is in the xxxxxxx’x department and designated area of primary responsibility;
2. Provide representation of an employee at an interrogation, fact-finding, investigatory interview, or similarly-purposed discussion which has as its purpose the gathering of facts to support adverse actions;

B. A written list of UAPD stewards serving each work location, broken down by department, shall be furnished to the State immediately after their designation, and UAPD shall notify the State promptly of any changes of such officers or stewards. UAPD stewards shall not be recognized by the State until such lists or changes thereto are received. There shall be no more than one UAPD xxxxxxx per twelve (12) Unit 16 employees or major fraction (greater than 1/2) thereof in each work location. UAPD may have a xxxxxxx at each CDCR – Division of Juvenile Justice facility.
C. Upon request of an aggrieved employee, a UAPD xxxxxxx may investigate the grievance, provided the grievance is in his/her regular work location, and assist in its presentation. He/she shall be allowed reasonable time for the purpose of representing employees in Unit 16 during working hours without loss of compensation, subject to prior notification and approval by his/her immediate supervisor. Such approval shall not be unreasonably withheld.

A written list of IUOE stewards serving each work location, listed by department, shall be furnished to the State immediately after their designation, and IUOE shall notify the State promptly of any changes of such officers or stewards. IUOE stewards shall not be recognized by the State until such lists or changes thereto are received. There shall be no more than one IUOE xxxxxxx per work location.
Stewards' Rights.
21.01 Stewards may be designated by the Union to facilitate the implementation of this Agreement, provided that no more than two (2) stewards shall be designated for any single work location [see Article 5 for such location(s)], and provided further that for senior high schools or where there are more than fifty (50) employees in any one work location, the Union may designate three (3) stewards. A list of such stewards shall be provided to the Board.
21.02 The Union shall be allowed to additionally designate three (3) employees as chief stewards. Such chief stewards may serve as the Union representative in the processing of grievances provided written prior notice of such service is provided to the Board by the Union. A chief xxxxxxx may also perform such duties as are prescribed for other stewards herein. Provided actions by the chief stewards shall be subject to the same restrictions as those placed on other stewards.
21.03 The Union may, at its option, designate no more than seven (7) Union representatives who are not employees of the Board. The Union shall submit a listing of such representatives in writing to the Director of Labor Relations. To the extent that their activity does not interfere with instructional activity or the work of other workers, the Union representatives or stewards shall be allowed to:

B. AFSCME shall provide a list to the State of the following: President, Vice President(s), Regional Chief Xxxxxxx(s), and Occupational Chairs upon election. If any of these elected officers change during his/her elected term the State will be notified. A written list of the Union stewards serving each work location, broken down by department, shall be furnished to the State immediately after their designation, and the Union shall notify the State promptly of any changes of such officers or stewards. Union stewards shall not be recognized by the State until such lists or changes thereto are received. AFSCME shall supply the State with a list of alternate stewards in accordance with the above. The sole function of an alternate shall be to act on behalf of a regular xxxxxxx when the regular xxxxxxx is on approved leave. If lists are not provided, release time will not be granted.
C. At the request of an employee, a Union xxxxxxx may investigate the complaint, file a grievance and assist in its presentation provided it is in the xxxxxxx'x designated area of responsibility.
D. In close proximity, stewards may be permitted to cross departmental lines. In other cases, with prior approval of the department, an employee may use accrued compensating time off or vacation for inter-departmental representation.
E. He/She shall be allowed reasonable time off for the purpose of representing employees in Bargaining Unit 19 during working hours without loss of compensation, subject to prior notification and approval by his/her immediate supervisor.
F. The State shall be prohibited from imposing or threatening to impose reprisals, from discriminating or threatening to discriminate against Union stewards, or otherwise interfering with, restraining, or coercing Union stewards because of the exercise of any rights given by this contract.
G. The Bargaining Unit 19 President, Vice-President(s), Regional Chief Xxxxxxx(s), or Occupational Chair(s) may be permitted to cross departmental lines for representation purposes. They will use union leave for this representation.

Stewards' Rights. The Company recognizes the right of the Union to designate a Unit President, Unit Vice President four grievance committeepersons, and an appropriate number of stewards to represent the employees from the Company's seniority list.
Stewards' Rights. When an employee presents his/her own grievance without intervention of a Union Xxxxxxx, the Xxxxxxx shall be given an opportunity to be present and shall be allowed the time therefor, paid at his/her regular rate, upon notification and approval of his/her immediate supervisor.
