Submittals and Shop Drawings. The Professional shall, review, certify, approve, reject or take other appropriate action on, and return all submittals such as shop drawings, product data and samples. The Professional shall not approve any such submittals unless such submittals conform to (i) the Project design concept; (ii) the Construction Documents; (iii) the Contracts for Construction; and (iv) the Owner’s Approved Construction Budget. The professional shall use the Owner’s Project Management System to record the dates received from or returned to the contractor, the findings of the Professional’s review, and other pertinent information pertaining to each submittal.
Submittals and Shop Drawings. 2.1 The Contractor shall prepare all Shop Drawings and Submittals necessary to perform the Work. If professional design services or certifications are necessary to perform the Shop Drawings or Submittals, the Contractor shall cause such services to be provided by a properly licensed design professional, whose signature and seal shall appear on all drawings, calculations, specifications, certifications, Shop Drawings and other Submittals prepared by such professional.
Submittals and Shop Drawings. 18.32.1 The Contractor shall check submittals and shop drawings for accuracy and verify with field measurements as necessary. Contractor shall submit to the Architect with its criticism and/or approval, all layouts, detail schedules, shop drawings, and setting or erection drawings as required by the specifications or requested by the Architect or Owner for proper installation of materials, without causing delay in the work. The Contractor shall read, carefully study and check subcontractor’s shop drawings and submittals for accuracy and see that work contiguous with and having bearing on work indicated on shop drawings shall be dated, numbered consecutively, show working and erection dimensions and as necessary details, and include complete information for connecting to other work. Any work required by shop drawings that is fabricated by the Contractor prior to receiving the appropriate approval from the architect and or engineer of record shall be done at the Contractor’s sole risk.
Submittals and Shop Drawings. The PMT may establish any necessary procedures and protocols with respect to submission, review and archiving of Submittals and Shop Drawings. Such procedures and protocols are may establish timing and processes, but are not to restrict the Prime Consultant in the substance of the review of the submission.

Consultant shall receive submittals, including shop drawings, product data and samples from the Contractor and shall review and a take appropriate action, but only for conformance with the design concept of the Project and with the provisions and intent of the Contract Documents. Consultant shall be entitled to additional services for the third and subsequent reviews of any submittal (typically back-charged to Contractor, at District’s option).

Submittals and Shop Drawings. 3.11.1 Design-Builder will review for compliance with the Contract Documents, approve and submit to Engineer, Shop Drawings, product data and similar submittals required by the Contract Documents. City will review and approve submittals in accordance with the Contract Documents. City’s review and approval will be only to determine if the items covered by the submittals will, after installation or incorporation in the construction, conform to the information given in the Contract Documents and be compatible with the design concept of the completed project as a functioning whole as indicated by the Contract Documents. City’s review and approval will not extend to means, methods, techniques, sequences or procedures of construction (except where a particular means, method, technique, sequence or procedure of construction is specifically and expressly called for by the Contract Documents) or to safety precautions or programs incident thereto. The review and approval of a separate item, as such, will not indicate approval of the assembly in which the item functions. Design- Builder shall make corrections required by City, and shall return the required number of corrected copies of the required submittal for review and approval. Design-Builder shall direct specific attention in writing to revisions other than the corrections called for by City on previous submittals. City’s review and approval of required submittals shall not relieve Design-Builder from responsibility for any variation from the requirements of the Contract Documents unless Design-Builder has in writing called City’s attention to each such variation at the time of submission and City has given written approval of each such variation by specific written notation thereof incorporated in or accompanying the submittal.
Submittals and Shop Drawings. Provide one full set of the final and approved shop drawings and submittals to the Owner at the close-out of the project. This Agreement is based closely upon the American Institute of Architects 1997 Edition of AIA Document A121, “Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager, where the Construction Manager is also the Constructor”. AIA has not granted specific authorization for this use, nor has Maricopa Community Colleges requested such use. MCCCD pays an annual license fee for unlimited use of all AIA documents. Our use is intended to be an edited version of the AIA st andard documents and not intended to override or avoid copyright or other use of their documents.

Subcontractor shall immediately upon execution of this Agreement prepare for BP’s submittal to Architect (and any other entities as required by the Subcontract Documents) any and all shop drawings, calculations, samples, cut sheets, and other submittals as required by the Subcontract Documents.

CONTRACTOR shall carefully examine the Contract Documents for all requirements for approval of materials to be submitted such as shop drawings, data, test results, schedules and samples. CONTRACTOR shall submit all such materials at its own expense and in such form as required by the Contract Documents in sufficient time to prevent any delay in the delivery of such materials and the installation thereof. Whenever materials or equipment are specified or described in the Contract Documents by using the name of a proprietary item or the name of a particular supplier, the naming of the item is intended to establish the type, function and quality required. Unless the name is followed by words indicating that no substitution is permitted, materials or equipment of other suppliers may be accepted by the ENGINEER if sufficient information is submitted by CONTRACTOR to allow the ENGINEER to determine that the material or equipment proposed is equivalent or equal to that named. Requests for review of substitute items of material and equipment will not be accepted by the ENGINEER from anyone other than CONTRACTOR and all such request must be submitted by CONTRACTOR to the ENGINEER within thirty (30) calendar days after Notice of Award is received by CONTRACTOR. If CONTRACTOR wishes to furnish or use a substitute item of material or equipment, CONTRACTOR shall make application to the ENGINEER for acceptance thereof, certifying that the proposed substitute shall perform adequately the functions and achieve the results called for by the general design, be similar and of equal substance to that specified and be suited to the same use as that specified. The application shall state that the evaluation and acceptance of the proposed substitute will not prejudice CONTRACTOR’s achievement of substantial completion on time, whether or not acceptance of the substitute for use in the Work will require a change in any of the Contract Documents (or in the provisions of any other direct contract with the CITY for the Project) to adapt the design to the proposed substitute and whether or not the incorporation or use by the substitute in connection with the Work is subject to payment of any license fee or royalty.
