Summer Postings. When the Employer chooses to post vacancies in the Summer they shall be posted for ten (10) days commencing July 15th and August 15th. All employees shall be notified by district email of the vacancy. Vacancies will also be posted on the district job posting website.

A notice of all vacancies and/or newly created positions which become available during the months of June, July and August shall be sent to the Union President and to those employees who have placed on file with the designated administrator a written request to be notified. It shall be the responsibility of the employee to file with the administration the address at which he/she may be reached during the summer months. Employees interested in the vacancy and/or newly created position must notify the designated administrator within five (5) days of the date the notice was posted.

The Employer shall notify Employees of vacancies occurring during the summer months, by sending notice of same to each Employee by United States mail to the given mailing address. Non-unit personnel shall not be used to do Bargaining Unit work during school year break times and summer break until all current Bargaining Unit Members wishing to do this work have had an opportunity to fill the available positions. These positions will be posted and paid at the new hire rate. This provision does not apply to work not financed by the District.

Unit members who may desire a transfer or may be interested in other positions that could become vacant over the summer months when school is not in session must complete a potential change of assignment form distributed by the district office and filed with his/her building principal prior to April 30th of each year.
