Posted Vacancies. (a) Where a regular vacancy occurs, or a new regular position is established, the Employer shall post a vacancy notice for a minimum period of eight (8) working days containing information relevant to the position (e.g. nature of position, wage/salary rate or range, qualifications and experience required, etc.). (b) Temporary and auxiliary vacancies shall not be posted under this Article, except that temporary and auxiliary vacancies which the Employer anticipates will exceed three (3) months shall be posted. (c) A posted notice of vacancy shall include a closing date for acceptance of all applications for the position. (d) All posted or advertised vacancies shall include the following statement on the notice: “This is a Union position”.

Posted Vacancies. (i) Where a regular vacancy occurs, or a new regular position is established, the District shall post, for a minimum period of five (5) working days, a vacancy notice containing information related to the classification (for example, pay rate, qualifications and work experience desired). The conditions of employment noted herein shall also be included in any newspaper or outside advertisements. (ii) In addition to posting job vacancy notices within all departments as above, the District may, with the concurrence of the Union, advertise externally on a simultaneous basis. Agreement to post job vacancies externally at the same time shall not be unreasonably withheld. (iii) Temporary and auxiliary positions shall not be posted under this Article, except that temporary and auxiliary fixed term appointments, the duration of which the Employer anticipates will exceed three (3) months, shall be posted. (iv) All internal posted vacancies shall include the following statement on the notice “This is a Union position”.
Posted Vacancies. A posted vacancy will be posted for five (5) working days. A posted vacancy is a position for which there are no employees applying for a lateral transfer or downgrade in relationship to their position. A posted vacancy is available to all bargaining unit employees seeking a promotion. External applicants will be considered only after bargaining unit members have been considered and have been deemed to not meet the listed qualifications through testing and the interview process. Selection shall be based on seniority and/or ability, attitude towards work and others and workmanship. The Employer shall notify in writing all of the applicants covered by this Agreement, as to the name of the person who has been awarded the position within five (5) working days from the date of the selection of the individual who has been awarded the position. Employees who were not selected for a posted vacancy for which they applied, may arrange an informal conference with the Administrator responsible for the selection process. The administrator shall describe any deficiencies that may be interfering with the employee's attempt to secure a posted vacancy. Any Employer sponsored in‐service and/or training activities available to the employee shall be identified during this conference.
Posted Vacancies. 115 Should a vacancy occur within the Department due to retirement, termination, promotion, etc., the Company will discuss with the Union if said vacancy needs to be filled. a. Employees from within the department where the opening is will be offered said openings by seniority before moving to step b of this paragraph. b. When a vacancy exists, the posting shall indicate the department, shift and for information purposes only, an identification of the major department functions(s), and a listing of typical labor grades in the department. c. If the posted vacancy is filled by an employee from the posted department from another shift, this transfer may result in a vacancy on their shift, which in that event will be posted. No further transfer or postings will be made. d. If the posted vacancy is not filled by someone from the posted department, it may be filled by a bidder from another department. e. If an employee, after having received a posted vacancy, returns to their home department, a second employee from the original list of bidders may be selected to fill the vacancy. f. If an employee is selected for a posted vacancy and subsequently returns to their home department at their own request, they shall be restricted from bidding on another posting for a period of six (6) months from the date of transfer to the posted vacancy. g. Vacancies will be filled based on the Job Selection Guidelines established and agreed to by the Union and Company. h. In the event of a recall, new hire, or departmental opening when additional personnel are required the Company will post a notice. i. The Company and Union will review notices prior to publication. j. When an employee is selected for a position and completes the training period, said employee will be restricted from bidding on another posting or notice for four (4) months. This is not intended to prevent an employee from bidding on a higher skilled job during this four (4) month period.
Posted Vacancies. The Board retains the sole right to determine who will be appointed to a vacancy. The Board retains the right to appoint a qualified employee within the bargaining unit when filling vacancies without considering external candidates. The Board will consider qualified employees within the bargaining unit along with external candidates when filling a posted vacancy. Any internal applicant who is not selected for a position for which he/she has applied shall receive notice of his/her non-selection.
Posted Vacancies. 1. The district shall notify Association members of vacancies in the bargaining unit. Such posting of job vacancies shall be for a period of at least five (5) business days within the district, and shall include an anticipated start date. If the district does not, in its sole opinion, find the internal candidates to be sufficiently qualified for the position, the district may post to the outside prior to the closing of applications for the position. The district practice of posting job vacancy notices in district buildings in designated locations will suffice for meeting the notification requirement. When a job opening occurs, the district will give first consideration to applications from present employees if a position has not been filled by a current transfer request as referenced in 9.B. The first consideration process shall mean: a. The unit member will be given the right to interview for the position in keeping with the procedures outlined in this article; b. The district may consider outside candidates determined by the district to have met the qualifications specified on the posting; c. The district may consider the qualifications or abilities of both internal and outside applicants for new or additional responsibilities which are attached or included in the job posting; d. The most senior unit member will be selected for the position if two or more internal candidates are determined to be equally qualified by the administration. The inside candidate shall be selected if they are determined to be equally qualified with the outside candidate(s). The decision as to which applicant is the most qualified for the position will rest solely with the administration and is not subject to grievance. The process used for hiring can be grieved (see grievance procedures). 4. When an opening occurs for which no voluntary transfer takes place, or when a new position is created within the bargaining unit, an employee may apply for the vacant position. (ii) Temporary vacancies shall not be posted under this Article, save and except that temporary vacancies which the Employer anticipates will exceed three (3) months shall be posted. Temporary vacancies shall not exceed the time duration as posted and filled without mutual agreement between the Union and Employer. (a) Temporary vacancies shall not exceed twenty-four (24) months; (b) Temporary postings in excess of twelve (12) months shall state ”Continuous Term”. (iii) All posted or advertised vacancies shall include the following statement on the notice “This is a CUPE Local 50 position”. (iv) A temporary vacancy caused by an employee being on long-term disability may be filled by an auxiliary, regular part time or regular seasonal employee, subject to conversion to regular status pursuant to Article 1.06(i)(a).
