Supplemental Liability Insurance. (SLI) & Exclusions. If you elect to purchase SLI, coverage will be provided to you and any authorized driver under an excess coverage automobile policy issued to Carfast . SLI provides protection for third party automobile claims for the difference between the minimum financial responsibility limits provided under paragraph 21 above and a maximum combined single limit of liability of $1,000,000 or $2,000,000 depending on the jurisdiction of rental and vehicle type for bodily injury, death or property damage for each accident. This coverage is provided under a policy of excess liability insurance more fully described in the available brochure and is subject to all of the conditions and limitations described in paragraph 21 above, except that notwithstanding anything contained in the Rental Agreement, the terms of the policy will at all times control. SLI does not apply to liability for bodily injury or property damage arising out of any “prohibited use of the car” as described in paragraph 14 of the Rental Agreement, all of which are exclusions to SLI. Supplemental Liability Insurance. (SLI) (Where available): If Renter purchases SLI, Owner provides Renter with minimum financial responsibility limits (at no charge to Renter) as outlined in the applicable motor vehicle financial responsibility laws of the state where Vehicle is operated AND excess insurance provided by the insurance policy (SLI charge is for the excess insurance only), which supplies Renter and AAD(s) with third-party liability protection with a combined single limit per accident equal to the difference between the minimum financial responsibility limits referenced above and $1,000,000 Combined Single Limit per accident. XXX will respond to third party accident claims that result from bodily injury, including death, and property damage that arise from the use or operation of Vehicle as permitted in this Rental Agreement. Owner and Renter reject any additional UM/UIM coverage to the extent permitted by law. No claim for UM/UIM may be made due to the negligence of the driver of the Vehicle. SLI, including UM/UIM benefits is provided only when Renter or any AAD are driving the Vehicle within the United States and Canada; coverage does not apply in Mexico. This is the name in which the State, as a governmental entity, enters into contracts, takes title to property, and initiates legal actions. Using the term “People” does not mean that the insurer is insuring all residents of New York State; rather, it means that the State government is being insured.
