Travel Delay Sample Clauses

Travel Delay. If the paid Covered Transport You have arranged for Your Journey is delayed for more than the number of hours stated in the Schedule of Benefits due to any of the covered events for Benefit 11 after Your Journey has commenced, We will pay the amount stated in the Schedule of Benefits: 1. Natural Disaster, major industrial or Covered Transport accident; 2. Less severe weather conditions not defined as Natural Disaster but results in delay of the scheduled Covered Transport; 3. Strike, riot, civil commotion, civil unrest or Act of Terrorism which results in delay of the scheduled Covered Transport or in which the government of Malaysia has issued a notice formally advising against non-essential travel to impacted areas in Your Destination; 4. Any events leading to airport closures; 5. Mechanical breakdown, equipment failure, structural defect of the Covered Transport; and 6. Unanticipated operational issues which are irrelevant to rescheduling or planned activities of the Covered Transport provider.

Travel Delay. In the event of an Insured Person being delayed by a booked Public Common Carrier for at least six (6) hours from the time specified by the scheduled Public Common Carrier as a result of sudden occurrence of strike by the employees of the Public Common Carrier, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, Terrorism, riot, civil commotion, airport closure, hijack or equipment failure of such Public Common Carrier during the Covered Trip, the Company will, subject of the Terms of this Policy, shall pay 1) HK$500 for each full six (6) hours that the Insured Person is delayed; or 2) the irrecoverable loss of pre-paid transportation and accommodation expenses which are forfeited and irrecoverable from any other source up to the limit payable in the Schedule, in the event of a delay from Hong Kong for more than six (6) consecutive hours directly resulting in the Insured Person’s failure to proceed with the Covered Trip or cancellation of the Covered Trip, provided that the Insured Person shall provide and surrender the original unused ticket to the Company. a) Under 4c - 1) The period of delay will be calculated from either i) or ii): i) the original scheduled departure time of the Public Common Carrier until the recommendation of the first available alternative transportation offered by such Public Common Carrier; or ii) the original arrival time specified in the itinerary provided by the Public Common Carrier until the actual arrival time of the first available alternative transportation offered by such Public Common Carrier. Insured Person can only claim for either departure or arrival delay but no for both. b) The Insured Person must obtain written confirmation from the Public Common Carrier stating the period of delay and the reason in order to claim under this Section. This section does not cover any delay arising from or due to a) government's regulation, control or act. b) bankruptcy, liquidation, error, omission or default of the Public Common Carrier, the travel agent or other provider of any service forming part of the booked Itinerary. c) strike, industrial action, riot, civil commotion or other circumstances giving rise to a claim under this section known to have existed at the time of application for this Policy. d) failure of the Insured Person to check-in according to the Itinerary supplied to him/her. e) late arrival of the Insured Person at the airport or port after check-in or booking in time. f) the Insured Person does not get on-board on t...
Travel Delay. If the departure of the scheduled ship, aircraft, vehicle or train on which an Insured Person is booked to travel in order to get to their planned destination at the start, during or on completion of a Trip is delayed due to strike, industrial action, adverse weather conditions or mechanical breakdown, the Company will pay £75 per hour in excess of 4 hours delay up to a maximum of £1,000. (Please also refer to General Policy Definitions for definitions that apply to the policy as a whole)
Travel DelayIn the event of the public common carrier in which you have arranged to travel as specified in your original itinerary being delayed by 8 hours as a result of strike or other industrial action, riot, civil commotion, hijack, terrorism, adverse weather conditions, natural disaster, mechanical and/or electrical breakdown of the public common carrier, we will pay HK$300 for each period of 8 hours that you are delayed. The period of delay will be calculated from either • the original scheduled departure time of the public common carrier supplied to the insured person until the recommendation of the first available alternative transportation offered by that public common carrier management; or • the original arrival time specified in the itinerary provided by the public common carrier supplied to the insured person until the actual arrival time of the first available alternative transportation offered by that public common carrier management. The insured person can only claim for either departure or arrival delay of the same flight but not for both. If the insured person has consecutive connect flights, each period of delayed hours cannot be accumulated and the proximate cause of the delay must be due to above-mentioned reason. Travel Delay. If your booked departure or organised travel to your planned destination at the commencement or completion of a trip is delayed due to: a) strike, labour dispute, industrial action; b) mechanical breakdown; c) disruption of road or rail services by avalanche, snow or flood; where such delay is in excess of four (4) hours, we will pay you twenty pounds (GBP20) per hour for every hour’s delay thereafter up to a maximum of two hundred and forty pounds (GBP240) but we will not pay and this insurance excludes cover where the delay is due to strike action which existed and for which advance warning had been given before the date on which the trip was booked.
Travel Delay. If your or a travelling companion’s trip is delayed for one of the covered reasons listed below, we will reimburse you for the following expenses, less available refunds, up to the maximum benefit shown in your Benefits Summary for travel delay: i. Your lost prepaid trip expenses and additional expenses you incur while and where you are delayed for meals, accommodation, communication and transportation, subject to a limit for the first complete 4 hours and a limit for each complete hour thereafter, as listed in your Benefits Summary, as follows: • If you provide receipts, the With Receipts Daily Limit applies; or • If you do not provide receipts or do not incur expenses, the No Receipts Daily Limit applies. ii. If the delay causes you to miss the departure of your cruise or tour, necessary transportation expenses to either help you rejoin your cruise/tour or reach your destination. iii. If the delay causes you to miss the departure of your flight or train due to a local public transportation delay on your way to the departure airport or train station, necessary transportation expenses to either help you reach your destination or return home. The delay must be for at least the Minimum Required Delay listed in your Benefits Summary and due to one of the following covered reasons: 1. A travel carrier delay (this does not include a travel carrier’s cancellation prior to your departure date); 2. A strike, unless threatened or announced prior to date of booking your trip. 3. Quarantine during your trip due to having been exposed to: a. A contagious disease other than an epidemic or pandemic; or b. An epidemic or pandemic (such as COVID-19), but only when the following conditions are met: i. The quarantine is specific to you or a travelling companion, meaning that you or a travelling companion must be specifically and individually designated by name in an order or directive to be placed in quarantine due to an epidemic or pandemic; and ii. The quarantine does not apply generally or broadly (a) to some segment or all of a population, geographical area, building, or vessel (including shelter-in-place, stay-at-home, safer-at-home, or other similar restriction), or (b) based on to, from, or through where the person is travelling. This condition (ii) applies even if the quarantine order or directive specifically designates you or a travelling companion by name to be quarantined. 4. A natural disaster; 5. Travel Delay. 1. If the departure time of the Scheduled Carrier is different from the time specified in the itinerary supplied to You, We will pay 2. If any part of the Trip is cancelled due to the delay, but You continue with the rest of the Trip, We will reimburse You for irrecoverable deposits or charges paid in advance or contracted to be paid for the cancelled part of the Trip. The number of hours delayed must be verified in writing by the Scheduled Carrier or their handling agent(s). If You are entitled to a refund from the Scheduled Carrier, We will only be liable for the losses not recovered.
Travel Delay. A. When a teacher is on District authorized business and is delayed by transportation difficulties beyond his/her control, time absent from the job will be charged to administrative leave. B. When a teacher on personal business is delayed by transportation difficulties beyond his/her control, no disciplinary action may be taken, and time absent from the job will be charged to personal leave then leave without pay. If District work is available, the teacher shall be assigned the work and shall be on work status.
