Tuition Waiver Program. The Employer recognizes the value of education in the personal development of employees. To encourage employees who wish to enhance their careers or personal opportunities through education, employees who have completed their probationary period are eligible to participate in the Employer’s tuition waiver program as provided in RCW 28B.15.558.
Tuition Waiver Program. An employee who wishes to use the tuition fee waiver program will be allowed to do so in accordance with the University’s current policy. Supervisors may grant paid release time for the employee to attend university class(s) if the class(s) provides professional development to the employee and meets the business needs of the department. Employees covered by this agreement will be allowed access to the Tuition Waiver Program to attend summer school classes under the following conditions:
A. Pending available space in the class.
B. Employee is available to register on the second (2nd) day of classes. The employee may attend classes starting the first day of session.
C. Pending faculty approval if class is taught on a prorated basis.
D. Pending supervisor approval. Access to summer school classes using the Tuition Waiver Program will be for the life of this contract and will expire on June 30, 2023.
Tuition Waiver Program. Employees who have completed their probation period are eligible to participate in the University’s tuition waiver program for both campus and on-line state support programs as provided in RCW 28B.15.558 and University policy. Eligible employees may enroll in up to ten (10) credit hours per term at a cost not to exceed five dollars ($5) per employee per term, plus applicable fees. Eligible employees wishing to audit or challenge classes may do so for a charge not to exceed five dollars ($5) per employee per term.

Tuition Waiver Program. 1. The Board agrees to permit paraprofessionals and other Board professionals and nonprofessional employees who reside outside of the Pittsburgh School District to make application to enroll their children in the Pittsburgh Public Schools if they so choose. Any such children who are admitted by the School District to enrollment in the Pittsburgh Public Schools shall be permitted to attend school without any tuition payment by their parents to the Pittsburgh School District, as long as at least one (1) parent continues as an employee of the Pittsburgh Public Schools. This “employee-requirement” provision shall be considered to continue to be satisfactorily met in the event the employee parent should retire (except if the retiree takes other employment), interrupt or discontinue employment due to a disabling illness or injury, die, be laid off, or be on an approved leave of absence.
a. The assignment of all new tuition waiver students will be to the feeder pattern established by the address of the work location in which the parent or guardian works.
(1) In the event that the work location of the employed parent changes at the initiation of the employee, the feeder pattern of the child or legal dependent will not change.
(2) In the event of an involuntary transfer of an employee, the parent may exercise the option to maintain the child’s feeder pattern or to reestablish it based on the employee’s new work location.
(3) If both of the parents of a tuition waiver student are nonresident employees, the original applica- tion must identify which parent’s work location will establish the student feeder pattern.
b. Tuition waiver students will continue not to be assigned to a specific magnet program until all resi- dent applicants on the appropriate waiting lists have been placed in that specific magnet. The sibling pref- erence rule for magnet schools continues not to apply to tuition waiver students.
c. The Board policy which excluded residents of the Woodland Hills School District from the tuition waiv- er program may be rescinded.
2. Transportation of such children to and from school shall be the responsibility of the parents, except where nor- mally provided School Board transportation is available. The provisions of this Section are to assure that no addi- tional transportation costs are incurred by the Board in maintaining this benefit for paraprofessionals and other Board employees.
