Continuing Education Requirements. Employees will be permitted to use work time to complete continuing education requirements associated with required licensure or certification. With advance supervisory approval, the University will pay the costs associated with continuing education requirements.
Continuing Education Requirements. Any program which is approved by the South Dakota Department of Education for renewal of a teaching certificate shall be accepted as meeting District requirements. It is the responsibility of the employee to verify that a class/course is accredited with the South Dakota Department of Education.
Continuing Education Requirements. If an employee possesses a license or certification that the Agency requires the employee to possess and use as part of his/her regularly assigned duties, and there are requirements for that license/certification which requires the employee to take continuing education classes in order to retain his/her license/certification, the Agency shall grant the employee Agency paid time to attend such continuing education classes if the classes are offered during the employee’s regular work schedule not to exceed sixteen (16) hours per calendar year.
Continuing Education Requirements. All teachers including those with life certificates shall be required to earn six quarter or four semester hours of college credit in a five-year block of time. Teachers with five-year certificates shall use the same block of time their current certificate is on. Teachers with life certificates shall use a five-year block of time starting with the 1999-2000 school year. This provision is an attempt to reflect the continuing education requirements of the ND Standards and Practices Board. All course work must be approved by the superintendent or designee and teachers must complete course approval forms prior to taking the class. Teachers failing to comply with the continuing education requirements will be frozen on the salary schedule for a period of one (1) year. Following the year’s grace, said teacher’s failure to meet these requirements shall result in forfeiture in raise on the salary base and or regular increments on the salary schedule. When said teacher meets the professional growth requirement, they will be reinstated at their normal step on the salary schedule. As stated above, it is the intent of this policy that the penalty is only for one (1) year. In addition, failure to meet these requirements may be evidence of lack of professional ability and academic preparation, to form the basis for termination of employment.
Continuing Education Requirements. Every teacher in the District must successfully complete at least four semester or six quarter hours of advanced work in his/her major or minor field, or other courses approved by the superintendent, by the end of each succeeding five-year period of employment. All such credits must be approved by the superintendent. The “five-year period” referred to herein shall correspond to the five-year term of the teacher’s teaching license issued by the North Dakota Education Standards and Practices Board. For those teachers holding a life certificate, it shall mean each five-year term commencing with the last reporting date to the District under prior negotiated agreements. For those teachers holding a two-year entrance certificate the first five-year period shall commence upon termination of such entrance certificate.
Continuing Education Requirements. The University will provide continuing education for all master positions on a yearly basis. This will be at the University’s expense and will occur during normal work hours.
Continuing Education Requirements. Employees that serve as Maintenance Specialists may be required to update or enhance their skills through successful completion of job related courses or vocational training programs designated by the employer. In order to encourage bargaining unit members to obtain certifications in the various maintenance areas, the employer will reimburse tuition to obtain certification. This not only includes HVAC/Plumbing certifications but also other pertinent certifications in the maintenance areas. SWIC has a variety of certifications including electrical and other courses, and SCCHA is aware of other local and area wide sources of training. To be eligible for tuition reimbursement, the employee has to have the course and course provider approved by the employer prior to enrollment in the course and agree to be employed with SCCHA for two years after certification. Failure to fulfill this commitment will result in the employee being required to reimburse SCCHA for any tuition expenses paid out on their behalf. Employees that serve as Maintenance Specialists shall be eligible for overtime privileges, subject to the Employer’s discretion and consistent with the terms of this Agreement, and may be required to participate in the emergency work rotation schedule.
Continuing Education Requirements. 1. All staff employed or contracted to provide recipient rights services shall receive education and training oriented toward maintenance, improvement or enhancement of the skills required to effectively perform the functions as rights staff.
2. A minimum of 36 contact hours of education or training shall be required over a three (3) year period subsequent to the completion of the Basic Skills requirements, and in every three (3) year period thereafter.
3. The 36 contact hours obtained must be in rights-related activities and must fall within one or more of the categories identified in the definitions above. At least 3 credits must be earned each calendar year.
4. A minimum of 12 contact hours must be obtained in programs classified as Category I or II.
5. No more than 12 credits in a 3 year period may be earned through the use of online learning resources.
6. CEU’s may be received by attending programs or conferences developed by the Department, other rights-related organizations, organizations that have applied to the Office of Recipient Rights Education, Training and Compliance Unit for approval of their programs or through online training.
7. Rights staff may request approval for other educational programs by utilizing the established approval process described within this document.
8. Recipient rights staff should retain documentation of meeting the CEU requirements for a period of four (4) years from the date of attendance. It is suggested that the following information be kept on file:
a. The title of the course or program and any identification number assigned to it by the MDHHS XXX Education, Training, and Compliance Unit.
b. The number of CEU hours completed.
c. The provider's name.
d. Verification of attendance by the provider.
e. The date and location of the course.
9. Reviews will be conducted by the MDHHS Office of Recipient Rights staff at each assessment of a recipient rights program to determine if all rights staff have met both the basic and continuing education requirements.
10. CMHSPs who contract with Licensed Private Hospitals/Units shall mandate compliance with the standards in this Technical Requirement by the Recipient Rights Office staff of those entities.
Continuing Education Requirements. 8.1. Horizontal Advancement on the Salary Schedule
8.1.1. Only graduate credit earned from a recognized college or university will count toward horizontal advancement on the Salary Schedule.
8.1.2. All such credit must have the prior written approval of the Superintendent on the district Request to Take a Course/Workshop form.
8.1.3. All credit must be directly related to enhancing instruction or services to pupils.
8.1.4. All credit must be successfully completed prior to the beginning of school, and an official transcript submitted within sixty (60) days of the completion of the course.
Continuing Education Requirements. A. The County may provide expense reimbursement of up to $500.00 per covered employee per calendar year for attendance at off-site mandatory continuing education training required to maintain a state license and/or for purchase of approved educational materials including, but not limited to, books, audio/video tapes and software programs. Reimbursement must be approved by the employee’s department head and the Xxxx County Human Resources Division, and will only be approved if: (1) the training is held during the employee’s regular work hours, (2) falls within their work specialty, (3) cannot be provided in-house at a lower cost, and (4) is beneficial to the operations of the employee’s department.
B. Departments with employees who have recurring mandatory continuing education needs will be required to pursue an in-house training program that will meet the needs of its employees at no cost to the County or employee.
