Union Activity During Work Hours. 35-1. No Bargaining Unit Member shall engage in organizational activity, grievance activity, or any other union related activity on the premises of the District during work hours of the Bargaining Unit Member except with the express prior agreement of the District.

Union Activity During Work Hours. The identified bargaining unit employee representative or designee may be granted time off with pay during work hours, the total of which on a daily basis shall not exceed the representative’s normally scheduled workday, for attendance at labor/management meetings, committee meetings and activities (where such meetings or activities have been jointly established by the Union and the Employer), or, for meetings called or agreed to by the Employer (where such Union representatives are entitled and required to attend the meetings). The Union representative will provide Departmental Management with as much notice as is possible in advance of such absences. Release time must have the advance approval of Departmental Management and be consistent with operational needs.
