Union Business Time. The District shall allow a maximum of eight (8) hours per pay period for use by the Union President or designee without loss of compensation. Such hours shall be excluded from hours worked for overtime purposes. Union business time may be used for any legitimate purpose including training and Union activity, such as interviews with or preparation of represented employees, or other Union activities not covered by paid release time.

Union Business Time. 1. The Company will pay Committeeperson(s) for the time spent in the performance of their Union duties during regular working hours, including time spent attending meetings in the second, third, and fourth steps of the Grievance Procedure, up to a maximum of 40 hours per week per Committeeperson, non-accumulative excluding arbitration hearings per Article 11 paragraph D. 2. Stewards will be paid for time spent in the performance of their Union duties, including attendance at second and third step grievance meetings, during regular working hours, up to a maximum of five (5) hours per week, non-accumulative. 3. All time shall be paid at the employee's current straight time hourly rate. Any Committeeperson attending a grievance meeting who regularly works on a night shift shall receive night shift premium. Union duties shall be limited to such duties as defined herein.
Union Business Time. 11.10.1. The Union shall have a Union Business Time Bank of eight hundred (800) hours per fiscal year. This also shall be without loss of pay or leave. All requests for union business official time pursuant to this section are subject to approval of the Fire Chief and shall not be unreasonably withheld. The Union will attempt to provide the request forty-eight (48) hours in advance.
Union Business Time. An authorized representative of the Union who is a City employee shall perform Union responsibilities on off-duty time, except that such responsibilities may be performed during on-duty time when the activity does not interfere with departmental operations as determined by the Fire Chief or designee.
Union Business Time. It is understood that the stewards and representatives on the foregoing committees have their regular duties to perform. Such employees shall not leave their work during their working hours except to perform the duties under this Agreement. Further, such employees shall be required to obtain the agreement of their manager prior to leaving their duties. Stewards and representatives shall not suffer any deduction from their regular pay as a result of attending at any meetings with the Association. Where such meetings are expected to last less than one-half (1/2) of a shift, the stewards and representatives are not required to find their own replacements.
Union Business Time. Union Business Time (“UB hours”) shall be accrued, calculated and used in separate pools. The first pool shall consist of all UB hours accrued prior to the ratification date of the 2016-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement. The UB hours in the first pool shall be those UB hours accrued and calculated pursuant to the 2013 Collective Bargaining Agreement and shall not be subject to a cap. The number of UB hours in the first pool shall be calculated and determined as of the ratification date of the 2016-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement, and no further UB hours shall be accrued after that date that are credited to the first pool. The second pool of UB hours shall be those accrued after the ratification date of the 2016-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement, and shall be capped as set forth below. With respect to the second pool, beginning on the day following the ratification date of the 2016-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Union shall accrue four (4) UB hours per one hundred (100) employees per week. The Company will guarantee the Union a minimum of seventy-two (72) hours for each week the plant is in operation. In the event the plant is shut down during any week other than scheduled annual "shut down", there shall be no accrual of union business time. UB hours may be carried over from week to week, and from year to year; however, once Two Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty (2750) UB hours are accrued following the ratification date of the 2016-2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement, there shall be no further accrual of additional UB hours until such hours have been used for the purposes permitted under this Agreement and there again are fewer than 2750 hours available to the Union for use. At that point, the UB hours may once again be accrued pursuant to this Section 6.9 until the 2750 UB hour cap has once again been reached, upon which further accrual of UB hours shall once again be suspended, and so forth. Any other Union activity shall be paid as may be provided by the Union. The Union President shall determine the allocation of the time, and shall notify the Company of how the time shall be paid. When possible, the Union President will be responsible for reporting off individuals for full day absences for union business at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance. Union Business Time. ‌ It is recognized that in administration or negotiation of the Agreement, supervision of individuals supported by the Association must come first. Therefore, a xxxxxxx or committee member shall not leave their work during their working hours except to perform the duties under this Agreement. Further, such employees shall be required to obtain the agreement of their supervisor prior to leaving their duties. Permission for reasonable amount of time shall not be unreasonably withheld. Stewards and bargaining-unit members of the foregoing committees shall not suffer any deduction from their regular pay as a result of attending at any meetings with the Association during their regularly scheduled hours.

Union Business Time. Generally, Union business shall not be conducted during employees’ working hours. The Union may request permission to conduct Union business during employees’ working hours for specific purposes and specific times. Such requests must be presented to the department head affected and may be approved by such department head when such activity does not interfere with departmental operations.

  • Union Business (a) The Hospital shall grant leave of absence without pay to employees to attend Union conventions, seminars, education classes and other Union business in connection with the administration of the collective agreement provided that such leave will not interfere with the efficient operation of the Hospital. Such leave will not be unreasonably denied. In requesting such leave of absence for an employee or employees, the Union must give at least fourteen (14) days clear notice in writing to the Hospital, unless not reasonably possible to give such notice. The cumulative total leave of absence, the number of employees that may be absent at any one time from any one area, and the number of days of absence shall be negotiated locally and are set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. During such leave of absence, the employee's salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital on the basis of what his normal regular hours of work would have been, provided that the Union reimburses the Hospital in the amount of such salary and applicable benefits within thirty (30) days of billing. Notwithstanding the above, time spent by the eight (8) Executive Board members and seven (7) Alternate Executive Board members of the Ontario Council of Hospital Unions to fulfill the duties of the position shall be in addition to leave for Union Business under this clause. Part-time and casual employees will be given full credit for seniority purposes for regularly scheduled hours missed in accordance with this provision. (b) In addition to the above, a part-time or casual employee who is attending to union business when not regularly scheduled to work shall be deemed to be on union leave and the amount of such leave shall not be deducted from the number of days of absence identified above. Such part-time or casual employee will be credited with seniority for the number of hours of such leave to a maximum of thirty-seven and one-half (37.5) hours per week. The Union will advise the Hospital of the number of such hours.

  • Time Off for Union Business ‌ (a) Leave of absence without pay shall be granted upon request for the reasons set out below unless it would unduly interrupt the Employer's operations: (1) to an elected or appointed representative of the Union to attend conventions of the Union and bodies to which the Union is affiliated, to a maximum of 21 days per occurrence; (2) for elected or appointed representatives of the Union to attend to union business which requires them to leave their general work area; (3) for employees who are representatives of the Union on a bargaining committee. (b) Long-term leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees designated by the Union to transact union business for specific periods of not less than 21 days unless this would unduly interrupt the operation of the department. Such requests shall be made in writing sufficiently in advance to minimize disruption of the department. Employees granted such leave of absence shall retain all rights and privileges accumulated prior to obtaining such leave. Seniority shall continue to accumulate during such leave and shall apply to such provisions as annual vacations, increments and promotions. (c) When leave of absence without pay is granted pursuant to Part (a) or (b), the leave shall be given with pay and the Union shall reimburse the Employer for salary and benefit costs, including travel time incurred, within 60 days of receipt of the invoice. It is understood that employees granted leave of absence pursuant to this clause shall receive their current rates of pay while on leave of absence. Leave of absence granted under this clause shall include sufficient travel time. The pay and benefits received by the employee and reimbursed by the Union under this article shall be based on the number of hours to which the Union indicates, in writing, the employee is entitled. This provision does not apply to employees on extended leaves of absence who are employed by the Union on a full-time basis. (d) Leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority will be granted to an employee called to appear as a witness before an arbitration board, provided the dispute involved the Employer. On application, the Arbitration Board may determine summarily the amount of time required for the attendance of any witness. (e) The Union shall provide the Employer with reasonable notice to minimize disruption of the operation and shall make every reasonable effort to give a minimum of 14 days’ notice prior to the commencement of leave under (a) or (b) above. The Employer agrees that any of the above leaves of absence shall not be unreasonably withheld.

  • Leave for Union Business The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Union to attend Union business including conferences, conventions and Provincial Committee meetings and to any nurse elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator. The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any time from one area and the number of days (including those of the Local Co-ordinator) is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. During such leave of absence, a nurse's salary and applicable benefits or percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Union agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the full-time nurse or in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits of a part-time nurse except for Provincial Committee meetings which will be reimbursed by the Union. The Hospital will xxxx the local Union within a reasonable period of time. Part-time nurses will receive service and seniority credit for all leaves granted under this Article.

  • Association Business Duly authorized representatives of the Association shall be permitted to transact official Association business on school property at all reasonable times provided that such activities shall not interfere with normal school operations.
