Full Time Union Leave. Any employee who is selected to a full time union position will be granted a leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority to fill the term of office. The employee shall be allowed to continue with all benefit plans and shall pay the full premiums of these plans. The term can be extended by mutual agreement. Union leave time is considered as time worked for all purposes of the collective agreement.
Full Time Union Leave a. Employees accepting full-time employment with the Union as representatives of the employees covered by this Agreement will be granted an indefinite unpaid leave of absence by the Company. An employee on leave of absence for this purpose will retain and continue to accrue seniority.
b. The employees on Union Leave will receive all Company-provided employee benefits that can reasonably be continued in effect during their leaves of absence. The Union will pay the premiums for medical coverage received by employees on leave and serving in these positions.
Full Time Union Leave. Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Hospital will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to a full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. Seniority and service shall accumulate during such leave to the maximum provided, if any, under the provisions of the collective agreement. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence.

Upon application by the Union, in writing, the organization will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the Bargaining Unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties.
Full Time Union Leave. The Society shall grant, on written request, leave of absence without pay for employees selected for, or elected to, a full-time position with the Union or any body to which the Union is affiliated for a period of two (2) years. On return to work from union leave, an employee shall be placed either in the position the employee held before taking the leave or in a comparable position.

Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Employer will give reasonable consideration to a request for a leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. It will become the responsibility of the employee for full payment of any applicable benefits in which the employee is participating during such leave of absence.
Full Time Union Leave. One
(1) Employee who is elected for a Full-time position with the Union shall be granted leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority. Employees who are selected for any staff position with the Union shall be granted a leave of absence without pay for a period of up to two (2) years. Extension of such leave may be granted, if submitted in writing and approved by the Employer. Approval of an extension will be dependent on operational requirements and will not be unreasonably withheld. The Employee will be permitted to work for gain for such leave. If it is permissible under the group health and life plans and any other plans, the Employee elected or appointed to a full-time Union position shall have the right to pay the full cost, including the Employer’s share, during the period of such leave of absence.
Full Time Union Leave. Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Employer will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to a full-time Union position as an Officer or Representative or to the staff of the Canadian National Federation of Independent Unions. It is understood that not more than two (2) employees in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Seniority shall be frozen and retained as of the date that the leave commenced. Should the Union Leave exceed six (6) months, the parties agree to enter into a letter of understanding concerning the conditions of employment and leave of absence.
Full Time Union Leave. Any seniority employee who is elected or appointed to a full-time position with the Union shall be granted a leave of absence without pay or benefits and without loss of seniority and that four (4) weeks notice (six weeks notice in December) shall be provided prior to return to bargaining unit work. Such periods may be renewed or extended by mutual agreement. Employees may continue benefits after the three months by making premium payments themselves on a monthly basis. Upon return to work, Employees will be reinstated to benefits according to the Plan.
Full Time Union Leave. The Employer agrees that a Full Time Continuing Employee elected to be President or first Vice President of OPSEU shall be granted a leave of absence without pay and without loss of seniority for the two (2) year term of office.
