Unit Member Initiated. All unit members requesting transfer shall follow the procedure as outlined below: 1.1.1 Discuss the desired transfer with the Principal of the school to which the unit member is currently assigned. 1.1.2 Write a letter addressed to the Superintendent, stating the unit member’s desire for a transfer and the reason for the request. 1.1.3 File the request with the Human Resources Office no later than April 1.

Unit Member Initiated. If one teacher elects not to apply to renew the job share, both teachers will return to full-time employment. Mutual agreement between both teachers: the originally assigned teacher stays in the position and the job sharing partner may enter the voluntary transfer process. The teacher who moved into the assignment will be the one to enter the voluntary transfer process. If one of the job share partners elects not to continue/resigns/retires, the originally assigned teacher stays in the position full-time and the job share partner will be placed in the involuntary transfer process. If the originally assigned teacher leaves the position, the job-share teacher assumes the assignment full- time.
Unit Member Initiated. Unit member initiated transfers shall be made in accordance with the following procedures: 11.3.1 A permanent unit member may request a transfer from a position to another in the same class, or greater or fewer in hours in the same class, or to a position in a lower classification as a voluntary demotion. 11.3.2 As openings are advertised, a unit member may submit a written request for a voluntary transfer to the Human Resources Office. The Superintendent/designee shall attempt to honor in-house requests for voluntary transfers when the training, experience, and the abilities of the requesting unit member match the vacant position job specifications. Probationary unit members (9 months or less) of the Employer are not eligible to be considered for voluntary transfers. The Employer will advertise positions in- house for five (5) working days. 11.3.3 The Employer will give first consideration to current unit members before hiring from the outside. Where two (2) or more unit members have equal merit and ability, the unit member with seniority shall be granted the position.
Unit Member Initiated. 5.2.1.1 Procedure for unit member initiated request: a) Only permanent unit members that currently hold the same classification as the vacant position may apply for transfer to the vacant position through the application process of the Human Resources Department of the District. b) A request for transfer is without prejudice to the unit member and shall not jeopardize the present assignment. A request for transfer may be withdrawn by the unit member, in writing, at any time prior to official notification of transfer approval. c) A unit member may request a transfer within his/her own classification that represents a longer work schedule. d) Only unit members whose most recent performance evaluation is satisfactory or better may apply for transfer. If the supervisor has not given a performance evaluation, the member’s performance shall be deemed satisfactory.
Unit Member Initiated a. Requests for part-time certificated assignment shall be made through the immediate supervisor. b. Where a part-time request shall involve a transfer or reassignment, it shall be processed in accordance with the Reassignment and Transfer Article of this Agreement. c. Unit members who are granted a reduction from full-time to part-time certificated assignment, shall concurrently be granted a leave without pay for the remainder of their full-time assignment. d. Part-time unit members who have reduced from full-time service may return to full-time service, provided a request to do so has been filed on or before March 1st with the Assistant Superintendent through their immediate supervisor. Receipt of the request shall be promptly acknowledged. Where a transfer or reassignment is necessary, it shall be in accordance with the Assignment and Transfer Article of this Agreement. e. A request to continue in a part-time assignment shall be filed on or before March 1st of each year. The District shall notify the employee as soon as possible, but no later than June 1st, whether or not his/her request has been granted. f. Part-time unit members who have reduced from full-time service in accordance with the pre- retirement provisions of this Agreement shall be governed by those provisions and not by this Article. g. This Article does not apply to Adult Education unit members.
Unit Member Initiated. 5.2.1.1 Criteria to be utilized for evaluating a unit member-initiated transfer: a) The needs and efficient operation of the District. b) The contribution the unit member can make in the new position. c) The qualifications, including experience and recent training of the unit member, compared to those of other candidates for the position to be filled and the position to be vacated. d) The length and quality of the service rendered to the District by the unit member. 5.2.1.2 Procedure for unit member initiated request: a) Any permanent unit member may apply for transfer to a vacant position by providing written notice to the Human Resources Department of the District. b) A request for transfer is without prejudice to the unit member and shall not jeopardize the present assignment. A request for transfer may be withdrawn by the unit member, in writing, at any time prior to official notification of transfer approval. c) Where a unit member requests a transfer, such requests shall be given priority consideration subject to the provisions of this Article.

Unit members off cycle, on summer recess or on leave of absence shall provide stamped, self-addressed envelopes if they want to be notified of openings.
