JOB SPECIFICATIONS. The job specifications and their various parts are declared to have the following force and effect: The definition and typical tasks are descriptive and explanatory only and not restrictive. Job titles indicate the kinds of positions that should be allocated by the duties, responsibilities, and qualification requirements, or other attributes typical and descriptive of the positions. The items listed as job duties are not all inclusive but are similar in kind and/or quality. Each employee shall be provided with amendments to their job description as they are approved within twenty-five (25) working days of the change. Job specifications indicating title, duties, and minimum qualifications for all positions will be available at all cost centers to employees and the Association upon request. No classified personnel will be required to perform personal errands or tasks for any supervisor or other employee when such benefits are of a personal nature and not job related. When a student requires medical services, those services may be assigned to an employee provided that the employee receives specialized training and can demonstrate proficiency. Individuals who volunteer to provide these medical services shall be used prior to assignment of these duties to employees who do not volunteer. To the extent legally permissible and without waiving any governmental immunity, the Board shall assume full and complete liability for any accidents or errors made in administration of these services by employees. Initial procedure training and refresher training shall be provided by the District annually to all employees assigned medical services responsibilities. When a classroom teacher is absent from class, a reasonable effort will be made to provide a substitute other than a classified employee. Paraprofessionals who serve as substitutes for not less than one-half (½) day, will be paid at the rate of seventeen ($17.00) dollars per hour. Payment will be for three-and-one-half (3½) hours for a half day or seven (7) hours for a full day. Paraprofessionals will only be eligible to substitute at their assigned worksite for not less than one- half (½) day. Paraprofessionals who are pulled from a regular assignment to substitute in the health clinic shall be paid at the rate of seventeen ($17.00) per hour.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS. Within thirty (30) days after execution of the Agreement, the City agrees to supply the Local President and the Bargaining Agent with copies of unit job specifications, including those modified during the negotiations which preceded this Agreement. Prior to modifying job specifications, the City will notify the Union in writing of the proposed changes. If the Union disputes the proposed modification(s) and/or changes made by the City, the Union shall within ten (10) business days of notice, request a meeting with the Human Resources Director, or Designee, to discuss the modification(s) and/or changes. If the Union does not request a meeting in writing within the aforementioned ten (10) business days the modification(s) and/or changes made by the City shall be deemed acceptable by the Union and will go into effect. Thereafter, the City agrees to submit all modified specifications to the Local President and the Bargaining Agent for Union review.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS. The City shall maintain written job specifications that shall include the following: title, nature of work, general description of the duties, and minimum or desirable qualifications for the job. The City will give the SPOA at least thirty (30) days advance written notice of any proposed change in the job specifications and upon request of SPOA, the City shall meet with the SPOA to answer questions from the SPOA about the change.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS. 7.1 The City will make available to employees, upon request, job descriptions which outline the duties of each employee (including but not limited to public safety telecommunicators and supervisors) in the unit. The City agrees to submit all new and revised job descriptions covered by this Agreement to the Association for review and recommendations. Said recommendations must be submitted to the Director of Human Resources within ten (10) working days after receipt of the job specifications. However, nothing contained herein or in the job descriptions shall be construed as diminishing the current duties of employees (except telecommunicators shall not be required to undertake major maintenance, construction or repair of departmental property), or as limiting the City’s ability to assign additional duties as necessary, or as limiting duties to those consistent with prior practice. The foregoing is not intended, nor may it be construed to be a bargaining waiver for changes that would materially and significantly impact employees. 7.2 A copy of the current job descriptions for telecommunicator and telecommunicator supervisor are attached as Appendix C-1 and C-2. A copy of the current job descriptions for Fire Alarm Specialist and Radio Systems Specialist are attached as Appendix C-3 and C-4. Employees, other than electrical employees, shall not be detailed to other departments of the City except in case of emergency affecting the health, safety and welfare of the City. 7.3 Employees shall not use any information, confidential or otherwise obtained during their employment with the City in any way other than in the performance of their duties and shall use their best efforts to prevent and protect the confidentiality of the information.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS. 28.1 The City agrees to submit any new or revised job specifications for positions covered under this Agreement to the President of the Association for Association review and recommendations. Said recommendations must be submitted to the Director of Human Resources within fifteen (15) working days after the mailing of said job specifications. 28.2 Employees may submit reclassification/reallocation requests to their Department Head or to Human Resources at any time. The requests will be reviewed and evaluated during contract negotiations or the annual budget process. When departments are reorganized or restructured, reclassification requests may be evaluated at times other than those listed above with the approval of the City Manager. The Human Resources Department will perform the evaluation, which will include a personal interview with the employee, and will submit a recommendation to the City Manager for consideration. The decision of the City Manager shall be final and is not arbitrable on those requests processed outside of the collective bargaining process. 28.3 Reclassifications/reallocations will be effective through the budget as of the effective date of such budget.
