Unused Holidays. At the time of retirement, employees shall be entitled to compensation for holiday benefits in the year of retirement on a prorated basis as of the date of retirement.

Unused Holidays. 4 1. Personal holidays do not accrue on the same basis as vacations. 5 Effective July 1, 2000, personal holidays, which have not been used by June 30 of the 6 fiscal year, shall be forfeited except that the employee may carry over into the next 7 fiscal year up to six (6) unused personal holidays. However, in no event may an 8 employee’s beginning holiday balance exceed seventeen (17) personal holidays as of 9 July 1 of a fiscal year, including holidays carried over from the preceding fiscal year.
Unused Holidays. All carry over balances of holiday leave (that were in existence as of January 1, 2012) must be utilized by not later than December 31, 2012, and any unused portions of those balances will be bought out by the Employer as of that date at the employee’s then current wage rate. Beginning January 1, 2012, all future grants of holiday leave must be used during the same calendar year in which the holiday occurs, and any unused holiday leave will be bought out by the Employer at the end of that calendar year, except that holiday leave granted for the Thanksgiving and/or Christmas holidays may be carried over into the next calendar year, but must then be used by not later than January 31st or such unused holiday leave will be bought out by the Employer as of that date.

The employee also has the option of donating personal holiday time 15 or unused comp time to the catastrophic leave bank.

  • Worked Holidays Employees who are required to work on the above-named holidays shall receive the pay due them for the holiday, plus double their base rate for all hours worked on such holiday, plus shift differential if applicable, unless the employee starts to work at 10:00 P.M., or thereafter on that day.

  • SPECIFIED HOLIDAYS 10.01 For the purposes of this Article:

  • Scheduled Holidays Holidays for certain employees, typically 24/7 facilities, are pre-scheduled on days other than the holidays mentioned in Section 1. This schedule is determined in advance. If employees who have their holiday pre-scheduled are required to work on that pre-scheduled holiday day, they are compensated as follows:

  • Unworked Holidays Eligible employees shall receive pay equal to their normal work shift at their base rate in effect at the time the holiday occurs. An employee who is on the active payroll on the holiday and has worked both the last scheduled shift preceding the holiday and the first scheduled shift succeeding the holiday shall be eligible for pay for such unworked holiday. An exception to this requirement will occur if the employee(s) can furnish proof, satisfactory to the District that because of illness they were unable to work on either of such shifts, and the absence previous to such holiday, by reason of such illness, has not been longer than 30 regular workdays, and they received sick pay for the day(s) missed.

  • Weekend Holidays 9.3.1. A full-time employee who works a Monday through Friday schedule and the calendar holiday falls on a Saturday, the employee shall be allowed the preceding day off. When a holiday falls on a Sunday, the employee shall be allowed the following day off. If the employee works the day preceding or following such a holiday, he/she shall be given another workday off with pay or shall receive payment for that day at the regular rate.

  • PAID HOLIDAYS 12.01 (a) A full-time employee who otherwise qualifies hereunder shall receive the following paid holidays: New Year's Day (Jan. 1st) Labour Day 3rd Monday in February Thanksgiving Day Easter Monday Remembrance Day (Nov.11th) Good Friday Christmas Day (Dec. 25th) Victoria Day Boxing Day (Dec. 26th) Canada Day (July 1st) Civic Holiday

  • PLANT HOLIDAYS 6.01 All employees covered by this Agreement will receive eight (8) hours pay at their regular straight time rates for each of the following Plant Holidays (regardless of the day on which the holiday falls) in addition to any wages which they may be in receipt of for work performed on such holidays:

  • Vacation/Holidays The Executive shall be entitled to all public holidays observed by the Company and vacation days in accordance with the applicable vacation policies for senior executives of the Company, which shall be taken at a reasonable time or times.

  • Designated Holidays A part-time employee shall not be paid for the designated holidays but shall, instead be paid a premium of four and one-quarter (4.25%) per cent for all straight-time hours during the period of part-time employment.
