USE OF SCHOOL BOARD PREMISES FOR UNION PURPOSES. ‌ This matter is the subject of clauses negotiated and agreed at the local or regional level in accordance with the Act respecting the process of negotiation of the collective agreements in the public and parapublic sectors (R.S.Q., c. R-8.2).

USE OF SCHOOL BOARD PREMISES FOR UNION PURPOSES. 3-2.01 At the request of the union representative to the principal, teachers may hold, free of charge, union meetings in a room of their school/centre. Such meetings cannot, however, interrupt the continuity of student courses and cannot take place in a room previously scheduled for another activity. 3-2.02 At the written request of the union representative, for the purpose of holding union meetings and provided that these meetings do not interrupt the continuity of student courses, the board shall, at no charge, provide the union with available and suitable accommodations in one of its buildings, along with any audiovisual equipment (e.g., microphone, projector, screen, etc.) available at the premises. However, the union must give the board forty-eight (48) hours notice for the use of a room in which to hold a General Meeting. The union must make arrangements for leaving the premises and the equipment in good order. 3-2.03 The board shall allow the union delegate the right to keep and have access to a filing cabinet within the school/centre for the purpose of maintaining union information provided that this does not result in costs to the board.
USE OF SCHOOL BOARD PREMISES FOR UNION PURPOSES. 3-2.01 At the request of the union, or union delegate, and with reasonable advance notice, the board or school administration shall, without charge, provide a room for union members only for union meetings. Such meetings shall not interrupt the continuity of pupils’ courses. 3-2.02 When a representative from the union office intends to visit a school or centre, intends to be present at a disciplinary meeting, or is requesting to be present at a non-disciplinary meeting, a notice or request, as the case may be, must be presented to the principal or centre director at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance. When an emergency situation arises, this notice can be waived. In these cases as much advance notice as possible shall be given.

If there are repairs to be made following such utilization, a xxxx shall be sent by the school to the union to cover such repair costs. 3-2.03 The union may invite, to any of its meetings, any person or persons it deems useful for such meetings. 3-2.04 At the request of the union delegate to the competent authority of the school, teachers may hold, without charge, union or educational meetings in a room of their school provided that these meetings do not interrupt the continuity of students’ courses. The union delegate must ensure that the premises used are left in good order. 3-2.05 Such meetings shall not have the effect of relieving a teacher from the duties of his or her task. 3-2.06 The board undertakes to supply the union with an office, and this without charge to the union, in the village where the president of the union resides. The Memorandum of Agreement between the board and the union and related to the paragraph above, is Appendix C. 3-2.07 The board and the union agree that only one LNSETA General Meeting per school year may be held on a pedagogical day.

However, in the case of a general meeting of the Union, the School Board must be advised forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the Union’s use of the building. 3-2.03 Notwithstanding Clauses 3-2.01 and 3-2.02, should a Union meeting require that the Board incur expenses due to the provision of caretaking and cleaning services which are not regularly scheduled (i.e., weekends, holidays) then the Union shall assume such expenses.
