Vacancies Defined. A. Temporary Vacancy Exists when the Department becomes aware that the absence of a regularly assigned employee will extend beyond thirty (30) calendar days. Any employee accepting a temporary vacancy shall return to their original job position upon the return of the employee whose job was filled.
B. Employees assigned by management on a temporary basis by the week to perform the duties of a position with an assigned higher pay rate than their current classification shall be paid at the higher rate for all periods of time worked in that classification.
C. Permanent Vacancy Exists when a position has been vacated and the Department posts the vacancy for bid. Should the Employer decide not to fill a vacancy, the Union shall be informed of the Employer's decision, and upon request of the Union, the parties shall meet to discuss such vacancy.
Vacancies Defined. 6.3.1 A vacancy is defined as an opening in the classified service for a non- temporary (more than six (6) months) position and which the State has determined to fill.
Vacancies Defined. A vacancy is defined as an opening in a permanent position within the bargaining unit. A vacancy may be created by death, resignation, dismissal, transfer of an employee out of the bargaining unit, retirement, a leave of absence from which the employee does not have a right to return to the position from which the leave was granted, permanent disability, promotion, demotion, or the creation of a new position. It is solely within the authority of the Employer to determine if a vacancy is to be filled.
Vacancies Defined. A vacancy shall be deemed to exist when:
(a) a new position is authorized; or
(b) a person occupying an authorized position leaves the position and the position remains authorized; or
(c) a position is reclassified (i.e., changed among technical, secretarial, skill and trade laborers, clerical or professional classifications). A vacancy shall not be created by the addition of a position to the Union's bargaining unit that results from the conversion of a UniServ unit from "local service" to "state service" status and the incumbent continues to hold said position.

B. Permanent Vacancy A permanent vacancy exits when an employee holding a full-time position quits, dies, or retires.
C. Short Term Absence A short term absence is a day-to-day vacancy due to the absence of a full-time employee from her position.
Vacancies Defined. The following are considered to be vacancies unless the Board decides not to fill the position.
1. Newly created positions in the certificated and/or licensed staff.
2. Promotional openings.
3. Positions arising as a result of deaths, resignations, terminations, retirements, non-renewals, transfers, and leaves of absence requested or approved for one (1) semester or more.
Vacancies Defined. A vacancy is defined as a position which the Employer elects to fill on a permanent basis. The Employer, or its designee, has the right to assign and reassign duties among Employees in a position within the court in a county, including the right to reassign duties of an unfilled position in the county, without creating a vacancy.
Vacancies Defined. A vacancy in a bargaining unit position shall exist when:
1. A bargaining unit member dies;
2. A bargaining unit member resigns;
3. A bargaining unit member retires;
4. A bargaining unit member has his/her limited teaching contract non- renewed or terminated;
5. A bargaining unit member is transferred;
6. A bargaining unit member is promoted;
7. A bargaining unit member goes on leave for a full work year;
