Vacation Requests/Scheduling. Vacations shall be subject to the approval of the immediate supervisor. Requests for vacation should be submitted to the supervisor 30 to 45 days before the start date of requested vacation. When more than one (1) employee at a site (or a department for non-site-based unit members) requests vacation at the same time, the determination of whose request will be granted shall be by seniority. Requests submitted after October 1 shall be subject to availability. A denial of a vacation request may be appealed to the Superintendent or designee. Any unscheduled vacation may be used with approval of the immediate supervisor.

Vacation Requests/Scheduling a) Written requests for vacation time off for part-time employees and vacation with pay for full-time employees, relating to the vacation period determined by the Employer, shall be submitted to the Supervisor by March 1st of each year and the schedule will be posted by the following April 1st. Vacation preferences/requests for employees failing to submit their vacation requests by the required deadline, cannot be guaranteed seniority preference over other employees who have submitted their requests on time. In the event that an employee fails to submit all or part of his/her vacation request by the required March 1st deadline, the Employer may schedule any or all vacation for the employee regardless of the employee’s seniority.
Vacation Requests/Scheduling a) On or before September 15th of each year, the Employer will provide each Full-time employee their projected paid vacation entitlement for the next calendar year. The Union and the Employer understand that this entitlement is a projection only and is subject to change based on whether the employee has not worked the full calendar period in which the vacation is to be taken or has a carry-over balance from the previous year.

  • Vacation Requests Regular employees become eligible for paid vacation leave once they have completed six (6) months of continuous employment. Vacations requests must be submitted by no later than January 31st to be scheduled for the vacation calendar year of April 1- March 31. Vacation time may be divided into blocks of one to two weeks in duration. Scheduling of vacation shall be in accordance with seniority within a classification. Where an employee chooses to split their vacation, they shall exercise seniority rights in the choice of the first vacation period. Seniority shall prevail in the choice of the second vacation period but only after all other first vacation periods have been selected. Remaining vacation periods will be scheduled in a fair and equitable manner amongst employees within a classification. The approved vacation schedule will be posted at the worksite on or before February 28th in each year. Employees will be limited to booking a maximum of two (2) consecutive weeks of vacation during prime vacation period (June 15 - September 15; and December 15 - January 5), unless further consecutive weeks would not interfere with the vacation preferences of less senior employees. The Employer will make every effort to accommodate requests for vacation of more than two (2) consecutive weeks outside of prime vacation periods. Employees failing to exercise their right to request vacation within the vacation selection time posted by the Employer will forfeit their seniority rights with respect to choice of vacation time. In such cases, the Employer reserves the right to schedule vacation time for the employee. A maximum of two (2) weeks of vacation time may be carried forward from one year to another. Employees who wish to carry vacation forward should notify the Employer by February 28th. If the employee has not requested all of their vacation leave, the Employer reserves the right to schedule the remaining vacation days within the last four (4) months of the calendar year. The Employer may also pay out unused vacation credits at the end of March each calendar year.

  • Vacation Scheduling (a) With the exception of authorized vacation carryover under Clause 18.6, the scheduling and completion of vacations shall be on a calendar-year basis.

  • Scheduling Vacation Vacation shall be as scheduled by the College. Employees shall be entitled to at least three (3) consecutive weeks of vacation, unless otherwise agreed. Employees shall indicate their preference, if any, as to vacation dates no later than March 1 of the current vacation year for the next vacation year (July 1 to June 30). The College shall confirm or deny, in writing, such vacation requests by March 15. The College may, however, schedule vacations at any time and will consider requests by employees, including requests for vacation in the months of May through August, consistent with the College staffing requirements. Vacation requests received after March 1 will be confirmed or denied, in writing, within two (2) weeks of receipt of same. If an employee is given in-patient treatment in a hospital during one (1) or more full days of the employee's vacation, those days may, at the request of the employee, be rescheduled during the vacation year, at a time convenient to the College.
