Visa Debit Transactions. In respect of all Visa debit Transactions, Merchant agrees as follows: a. Any transaction on a Visa debit Card by a Merchant that has elected to not accept Visa debit Cards or where the Cardholder has elected to not carry out a Visa debit Card transaction, shall be deemed an improper use of the Services and shall not be a Transaction for the purposes of this Agreement; and b. Foreign Visa debit Card Transactions are handled in the same manner as domestic Visa debit Card Transactions whether they be PIN or swipe.

To purchase or lease goods or services or make payments by telephone or online, without needing to provide your actual Card Number, you may request up to six (6) active Virtual Accounts. Each Virtual Account consists of a 16-digit account number, a 3-digit security code, and an expiration date. Each Virtual Account expires one (1) year from the last day of the calendar month during which the Virtual Account was created. For example, if a Virtual Account is created on June 13, 2017, its expiration date is June 30, 2018. When you use your Virtual Account without presenting your Card, the legal effect will be the same as if you used the Card itself. You must first register your Card with us before you can request a Virtual Account (see the section labeled“Opening a Card Account (Identification Verification); Registration/Activation”).

Returns and Refunds- If you are entitled to a refund for any reason for goods or services obtained with the Card, you agree to accept credits to the Card for such refunds and agree to the refund policy of that merchant. Neither the Issuer nor the Program Manager shall be responsible for the delivery, quality, safety, legality or any other aspects of goods or services that you purchase from others with the Card. All such disputes must be addressed and handled directly with the merchant. Refunds are not processed in real-time and may require three Card Replacement- If you need to replace the Card prior to expiration, for any reason, please contact 1-866- 000-0000 to request a replacement Card. You will be required to provide personal information which may include the 16-digit Card number, your full name, transaction history, copies of accepted identification, etc. There is a fee for replacing a lost, stolen or damaged Card, see the section labeled “Fee Schedule” for details about the Card Reissue Fee. Visa Debit Transactions. Northern Star Credit Union enables Non-VISA Debit Transactions processing and does not require that a PIN authenticate all such transactions. A Non-VISA Debit Transaction may occur on your debit card through the Star, Pulse, Accel/Exchange, NYCE, AFFIN, National Exchange, Credit Union 24, Member Access Atlantic, Maestrow, CUHereMoneyPass, and Plus Networks. Below are examples to distinguish between a VISA Debit and Non-VISA Debit Transactions: • To initiate a VISA Debit Transaction at the POS, the cardholder signs a receipt, provides a card number in e-commerce or mail/telephone order environments, or swipes the card through a POS terminal. • To initiate a Non-VISA Debt Transaction, the cardholder enters a PIN at the POS terminal or, for certain bill payment transactions, provides the account number for an ecommerce or mail/telephone after clearly indicating a preference to route it as a Non-VISA Transaction. You may request a receipt after completing a transaction using an ATM or POS device. It is recommended to obtain a receipt each time you use your Northern Star Debit Card to purchase goods or services. Retain these receipts to confirm the information on your account statement. Purchases and cash withdrawals made in foreign countries and foreign currencies will be billed to you in U.S. dollars. The conversion rate to dollars will be at (a) the wholesale market rate or (b) the government mandated rate, whichever is applicable, in effect one day prior to the processing date, increased by one percent.
