Visiting Professor. Nothing in this section shall preclude the Administration from designating a faculty member on a fixed-term appointment as a Visiting Professor.
Visiting Professor. “Visiting professor” shall mean a full-time faculty member appointed at any rank for a single semester or a single academic year in order to fulfill some special academic need or provide some special enhancement to an existing program. Any such appointment may be made pursuant to the first paragraph of Article XX, Section B.

Visiting Professor. The title Visiting Professor is assigned to individuals who hold or have held professional rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor) at another institution of higher education or have equivalent accomplishments in the arts, sciences, or public arena. Their rank is recognized at Oklahoma Baptist University. Visiting Professors are appointed by the President through the chief academic officer, in consultation with the appropriate xxxx and department or divisional chairman to teach full or part time, such time to be determined by the chief academic officer. Visiting Professors serve on term contracts. Terms and conditions of employment must be agreed upon in writing prior to appointment.
Visiting Professor. 2.1 A person may be appointed as a visiting professor in an academic unit, provided:
(a) the appointee is a recognized scholar or artist whose presence will enhance the breadth or quality of the University’s scholarly or teaching activities; and
(b) the appointee holds a continuing appointment, or has established a career, outside the University of Ottawa, or is retired. ‘The initial appointment of a visiting professor shall be for a term not exceeding 24 months. A visiting professor may be reappointed once, it being understood that the total duration of the appointment may not exceed 36 months. Seconded professors Persons employed elsewhere may be assigned to an academic staff position at the University of Ottawa on a secondment basis or under the terms of an exchange program. The decision regarding such an appointment Is made by the employer, upon proper consideration of the recommendations of the xxxx and of the department concerned. Besides the recommendation of the department, the department chair may make a separete recommendation. French “coopérants” In the matter of appointment or reappointment of a French “coopérant militaire”, the decision Is made by the employer after giving proper consideration to the recommendation of the xxxx and the department concerned. Visiting Professor. 2.2.1 A person may be appointed as a visiting professor in an academic unit, provided:
(a) the appointee is a recognized scholar or artist whose presence will enhance the breadth or quality of the University's scholarly or teaching activities; and
(b) the appointee holds a continuing appointment, or has established a career, outside the University of Ottawa, or is retired.; and
(c) the majority of the members of the appropriate unit assembly agrees to the appointment by way of a public vote.
Visiting Professor. The Program will host a scholar, or scholars, that will engage with the Progmm's Mission through research and student mentorship, The Progrnm can select a scholar every year or provide a longer two or three year term position, depending on the Program's needs and qualified candidates,
Visiting Professor. This category of faculty member focuses on bringing successful professionals or academics into the University environment for set periods of time ranging from one semester to a maximum of two years. These faculty members are outstanding practitioners or scholars in their chosen field. They excel in their profession and are expected to create a rich dialogue among faculty and students. These faculty members should be seasoned leaders in private, public or academic service whose accomplishments are widely acknowledged. The selected professionals will bring a particular specialization to the position not readily available among current faculty and will educate students and faculty.
(1) Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Campus responsibilities will vary by College and Department but in general, will be responsible for
(i) teaching, (ii) providing seminars to faculty on the particular area of expertise brought to campus,
(iii) community outreach, (iv) experiential learning,
(v) career development, and/or (vi) collaborative research with students.
2. The Visiting Professor may fulfill the standard duties of fulltime faculty such as curriculum development, attendance at department meetings (nonvoting), pursuing professional growth activities and other duties consistent with the role of instructor.
3. The Visiting Professor will be expected to maintain regular office hours and may serve on department, college or university committees.
4. The Visiting Professor will be exempt from the tenure and promotion sections of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. The Visiting Professor will be evaluated annually on teaching effectiveness.
5. If at the end of the two year visiting period, the faculty member is retained for a third year, the appointment will become tenuretrack
