Volunteer Work. It is agreed that Volunteers have a role in caring for seniors and are an important link to the community being served. It is further agreed that Volunteers will be supernumerary to established positions in the bargaining unit, and that the use of Volunteers will not result in the lay-off of employees in the bargaining unit; nor will Volunteers be used to fill established positions within the bargaining unit. It is further agreed that the utilization of Volunteers, as at the date of execution of this Agreement, is consistent with the above.
Volunteer Work. Employees who volunteer for “No Pay Rides” will not lose their position on the rotation and the Company agrees to continue to donate the bus.
Volunteer Work. A. Granting of excused absence for volunteer activities will be considered only when law does not specifically prohibit the employee’s absence, workload allows the employee’s excusal, and the Employer determines that the activity satisfies the following criteria:
1. The absence is directly related to the EPA’s mission;
2. The absence is officially sponsored or sanctioned by EPA; and
3. The absence is brief and is determined to be in the interest of the Employer.
B. In all cases, the employee must provide acceptable evidence that the time was used for volunteer activities.
Volunteer Work. The District may continue to utilize the services of volunteers as authorized by law. A unit member shall not be required to volunteer time (nonpaid) to perform duties normally assigned to his/her classification or position. (2004-05)
Volunteer Work. In accordance with OPM guidance and if workload permits, employees may be granted up to 8 hours of duty time per leave year to participate in Agency-sponsored or sanctioned volunteer activities directly related to the Agency’s mission. Decisions regarding employees’ participation in such events shall be made on a case-by-case basis.

29.2 The parties agree that either the Employer or the Union may, from time to time, request participants for volunteer activity in the community, and that any Employee participating in any such activity shall not be entitled to any compensation for participation. Participation, or lack thereof, shall not be used to benefit or harm any employee in any manner. If an employee participating in such activity has an occupational accident resulting in injury or illness they will be deemed at work for the purposes of the WSIB. Further, if an employee participating in such activity is called to perform paramedical or supervisory duties, as required by the Ambulance Act, such response will be deemed a call-in as per this Agreement.
Volunteer Work. Employee recognizes that there are many volunteers who provide volunteer services to the Fire Protection District in the form of emergency response services. This volunteer activity is performed without the expectation or promise of compensation. There is no coercion or pressure on Employee to volunteer in this capacity. However, if Xxxxx Xxxxxxxx chooses to volunteer in this capacity, he recognizes that there will be no compensation due for emergency response work as these volunteer services are not the same type of services performed by Employee in the course of his regular employment with Employer.
