WATER DRAFTING Sample Clauses

WATER DRAFTING. 9.1 Limitations and restrictions of drafting conditions apply to each individual drafting site. All THPs using a drafting site shall comply individually and collectively with limitations and restrictions in this Agreement. 9.2 Drafted water shall only be used for timber operations related to dust abatement, road maintenance, road and stream crossing construction, reconstruction, deconstruction, upgrading and decommissioning, fire suppression, prescribed fuel reduction burning, and pesticide mixing. 9.3 Permittee shall not grant permission to other parties to use water drafting sites or water drafted under this Agreement for purposes other than permitted without first informing CDFW and amending this Agreement. Such permission shall assure that conditions to which Permittee must adhere are followed individually and collectively by all parties using the site. 9.4 Water may be drafted year-round, prior to drafting in each calendar year, a pre- operational meeting shall take place between the RPF and the licensed timber operator (LTO) responsible for field operations. The meeting shall take place at a representative sample of drafting sites, including all drafting sites with unique, site-specific conditions. The LTO shall inform all water truck operators of their responsibilities under this Agreement. 9.5 Drafting by more than one truck shall not occur simultaneously at the same site. 9.6 All water drafting vehicles shall be checked daily and shall be repaired as necessary to prevent leaks of deleterious materials from entering the WLPZ or stream. 9.7 For any instream work for intakes or approaches that was not described in the notification project description, Permittee shall notify CDFW and obtain an amendment to this Agreement, if necessary, prior to doing this work. 9.8 Effective erosion control such as waterbars, gravel berms, or hay xxxxx shall be installed and maintained as necessary to remain effective where overflow run-off from water trucks or storage tanks may enter the stream. 9.9 Pesticide mix trucks shall not directly draft water from a stream or pond. Pesticide shall not be mixed where runoff may enter a stream or hydrologically - connected drainage facility. 9.10 Water truck operators drafting water from within or downstream of a known sudden oak death syndrome infestation area shall disinfect water in trucks and shall disinfect truck water tanks before leaving the area. Disinfection shall be accomplished by using 1 gallon of Ultra Clorox Bleac...

WATER DRAFTING. 1. To help assess the cumulative impact of water drafting in any given watershed, the following information shall be included in the Annual Work Plan: a) a description and map of existing or new water drafting sites, and/or existing water drafting sites requiring substantial alteration to be utilized for the year submitted. b) the watercourse or lake classification. c) the general drafting location use parameters including expected seasonal sourceflows, estimated total volume needed, expected site-specific protection measures and description of associated activities related to water drafting. 2. GDRCo existing drafting sites are disclosed in Appendix B. Any site not included in Appendix B, and those planned in an Annual Work Plan shall be considered a new site. 3. All drafting sites planned to be used shall be disclosed under the Annual Work Plan. Those sites shall be monitored and drafting measurements taken every two weeks during the period of time drafting hoses are in place and diverting water. Drafting rates shall be adjusted, as necessary, to ensure feasible compliance with the conditions under this Agreement. If reliable seasonal flow patterns are established over time at individual drafting sites, the frequency of monitoring efforts can be modified with concurrence of the Department and GDRCo. 4. In addition to the Annual Work Plan, a monthly Water Drafting Operations Report shall be submitted to the Department by electronic correspondence, at the end of any month water drafting occurs. The Water Drafting Operations Report shall summarize monitoring results and shall contain the following information: a) List of all sites included in the Annual Work Plan and the following information for each site: date of monitoring, surveyor, measured sourceflow, the method used in determining sourceflow, initial diversion rate, adjusted diversion rate, and any adjustments made to drafting operations as a result of variations to sourceflows. 5. If the Department or Green Diamond determines water drafting from any site is or may result in significant adverse impacts to aquatic resources, drafting operations shall be modified to reduce the impact to less than significant or shall cease. 6. If Green Diamond can demonstrate to the Department that the drafting rates in the Agreement are operationally infeasible and can be increased without resulting in significant adverse impacts to aquatic resources, the maximum allowable drafting rates may be modified on a site-spec...
WATER DRAFTING. Drafting and use of water at existing facilities and into water trucks for road dust abatement, road maintenance, road construction, decommissioning, surfacing, herbicide mixing, and prescribed fuel reduction burning, subject to valid legal rights.
WATER DRAFTING. 1. PALCO shall utilize the most current NMFS water drafting screen specifications. As of the effective date, the screen specifications described below are the most current and shall be used until they are replaced by NMFS. 2. The screen shall be kept in good repair and shall be used whenever water is drafting (i.e., pumped from the stream into a truck or trailer). 3. The screen face shall be parallel to the flow of the water. 4. The screen shall have an approach velocity of no more than 0.33 foot per second. The approach velocity is the velocity of the water through the screen openings. − The screen shall have at least 12 square feet of open area per cubic foot per second of the maximum diversion rate (12 square feet of screen per 450 gallons/minute). − Round openings shall not exceed 3/32 inch in diameter. − Square openings shall not exceed 3/32 inch measured diagonally. 5. The screen shall be cleaned as often as necessary to prevent the approach velocity from exceeding 0.33 foot per second and to prevent the head differential through the screen from exceeding 2 inches. 6. The diversion rate shall not exceed the inflow rate.
WATER DRAFTING. Water drafting involves the direct drafting of stream flow into a water truck which is then periodically sprinkled or otherwise applied for dust abatement, road maintenance, road construction, surfacing, and prescribed fuel reduction burning. Water may also be obtained by the use of gravity fed systems that provide water directly to storage reservoirs or tanks for similar use. Occasionally, existing drafting locations within or adjacent to watercourses are excavated and cleaned of debris to increase their in- channel storage area for drafting purposes.
WATER DRAFTING. A. General Water Drafting Procedures 1. For proposed new drafting sites, or for proposals to increase drafting rate at an existing site, to help assess the cumulative impact of water drafting in any given watershed, the following information shall be included in an associated PTHP: a. a description and map of proposed drafting sites, and existing water drafting locations in the Planning Watershed; b. the watercourse or lake classification; c. water body condition at the intake (e.g., in wetted channel pool, excavated sump in gravel bar); d. the diversion parameters of the site, and as available other drafting locations in the Planning Watershed (i.e., maximum instantaneous, daily, weekly, and yearly diversion rate and volumes; dates of diversion, estimated filling time, and associated water drafting from other PTHPs). e. A water availability analysis, the design of which is acceptable to DFG19. 2. Limitations and restrictions are by drafting site, not by PTHP. 3. Water diverted into trucks shall only be dispensed for the purposes of dust abatement; road maintenance, repair, reconstruction, construction, decommissioning, removal; and pesticide mixing. 4. Water may be drafted year-round, but after a seasonal hiatus > 2 months or a change in Licensed Timber Operator (LTO), MRC shall conduct a pre-operational meeting with the LTO responsible for field operations. The meeting shall take place at a representative sample of drafting sites (e.g. Class I watercourse, Class II watercourse, Class I and Class II ponds, and gravity fed storage tanks) and any other drafting sites with unique, site specific conditions. The LTO shall fully inform all water truck operators of their responsibilities stipulated within this plan. 5. Water shall not be drafted by more than one truck simultaneously at the same site.
WATER DRAFTING. Water drafting, if needed, for construction activities, may be taken from the Ash Creek, Butte Creek or nearby sources during the period of April 15 to October 31.
