Xxxx Leave Defined. Sick leave provisions apply to personal illness, injury, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions, and absence due to the quarantine laws of the State; however, a Member may elect to use sick leave to assist a member of his or her immediate family who is incapacitated due to personal illness, injury, pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions, and absences due to the quarantine laws of the State. Xxxx leave must have the approval of the Member's Responsible Administrator. Such approval will be based on sound reasoning, compassion, and respect.

Xxxx Leave Defined. An employee shall be entitled to and shall receive sick leave without loss of pay only where the employee is unable to be at work and perform his regular duties as a result of personal illness or injury. A working day is defined as the number of hours an employee works on a regular work day.
Xxxx Leave Defined. Xxxx leave is hereby defined to mean the absence from his or her post of duty, of any such person because of personal disability due to illness or injury, or because he or she has been excluded from school by the school district’s medical authorities on account of a contagious disease or of being quarantined for such a disease in his or her immediate household.

At each employee's option, absence from duty due to the death of a member of the "employee's immediate family," meaning spouse, registered domestic partner, child, brother, sister, parent, parent-in-law, step-parent, step-brother, step-sister, or any other relative living in the same household, provided such leave as defined in this subsection shall not exceed five working days (40 hours for non-shift personnel, 56 hours for shift personnel) from each incident. The employee may be required to submit proof of relative's death before being granted sick leave pay; 3. An employee whose memorandum of understanding incorporates a provision for "family leave" may use sick leave not to exceed three days (24 hours for non-shift personnel, 33.6 hours for shift personnel) per year if required to be away from his/her job to personally care for a member of the employee's immediate family as defined in this subsection.
