Exhaustion of Sick Leave Sample Clauses

Exhaustion of Sick Leave. For reasons valid under the conditions specified in this collective bargaining agreement for sick leave, anyone who exhausts sick leave will be granted leave without pay due to the exhaustion of sick leave. The stipulations of the bargaining contract apply regarding licensed health care provider verification, etc.
Exhaustion of Sick Leave. When all regular and supplemental sick leave have been exhausted and a Unit Member is not medically able to resume the duties of the position due to illness, the Unit Member may elect to resign, retire, or to request a leave of absence without pay for the period of time that a licensed physician verifies that the Unit Member is unable to work. 15.1.4.1 If, after exhaustion of all regular and supplemental sick leave and at the conclusion of any subsequently authorized unpaid leave of absence, the Unit Member is not medically able to assume the duties of the position, the Unit Member shall be placed on a reemployment list for a period of thirty-nine (39) months. 15.1.4.2 When available, during the 39-month period, the Unit Member will be offered reemployment in a vacant position in the classification of the Unit Member’s previous assignment, on the basis of seniority, over all other qualified and available candidates except for Unit Members on a reemployment list established because of lack of work or lack of funds. 15.1.4.3 Prior to any reemployment, the Unit Member shall provide the District with a medical statement by a licensed physician certifying that the Unit Member is able to return to work and is medically able to perform the duties of the position. 15.1.4.4 A Unit Member who fails to accept an offer of reemployment and who is medically able to perform the duties of the position may be removed from the reemployment list.
Exhaustion of Sick Leave. If illness or disability continues beyond the time covered by earned sick leave, the employee may be granted a disability leave or a personal leave in accordance with the appropriate sections of this agreement or the employee may be disability separated.
Exhaustion of Sick Leave. An employee will not be paid for each day’s absence in excess of the allowance provided above unless granted additional leave through the District’s sick leave bank. Annually, a sick leave bank of sixty (60) days total will be established by the Board of Education. Sick Leave Bank Days will be available on a first-come, first-served basis to certificated employees who have both exhausted their accumulated sick leave and are faced with a catastrophic situation. Determination of a catastrophic situation will be the responsibility of the District’s administration, including the Superintendent. A maximum of twenty (20) days per year per individual will be allowed for use. The actual number of days used during any given year by an eligible individual will be determined by the District’s administration, including the Superintendent. Application for this leave shall be made through the Director of Human Resources. Should an employee exhaust his/her sick leave and not qualify for additional days through the District’s Sick Leave Bank, said employee shall receive notification that his/her sick leave allowance has been exhausted. This notification shall be in writing from the Director of Finance and Operations and will accompany the paycheck or stub affected by such loss of pay.
Exhaustion of Sick LeaveProfessional Staff Members who exhaust all sick leave they have earned or have had credited to their account as an advance or from the sick leave bank who remain sick and unable to report for work shall automatically, for up to thirty (30) days, be deemed on leave-without-pay status. During this thirty (30) day period, the Professional Staff Member MUST apply for appropriate leave to cover the absence from work. Failure to properly apply for appropriate leave during this thirty (30) day period is grounds for termination of the Professional Staff Member's contract for willful failure to return to work.
Exhaustion of Sick LeaveWhen an employee is on sick leave status and such sick leave time due the employee has been exhausted, subsequent leave of absence shall first be charged to compensatory time accruals and then to vacation accruals. An exception shall be made if such would cause an employee to lose vacation which could not be carried forward.
Exhaustion of Sick Leave. (a) Employees who exhaust all sick leave they have earned or have had credited to their account as an advance or from the sick leave bank who remain sick and unable to report for work shall automatically be deemed on unpaid medical leave for a period of up to thirty (30) days but not less than twenty-one (21) days from the exhaustion of the sick leave. During this period of unpaid medical leave, the employee must apply for appropriate leave to cover any further absence from work. Failure to properly apply for appropriate leave during this period of unpaid medical leave is grounds for termination of the employee's contract for willful failure to return to work.
Exhaustion of Sick Leave. A leave of absence without pay may be granted for all or part of an instructional year if a faculty member’s illness or injury extends beyond the faculty member’s sick leave accrual. Absence beyond the total number of days of accrued sick leave shall be without pay. Leave without pay shall be deducted at the faculty member’s daily rate for each day of absence.
Exhaustion of Sick LeaveEmployees who are eligible for sick leave as provided in Section 11.2 ofthe Agreement, but who have exhausted all of their accumulated sick leave, shall be granted an unpaid sick leave for the duration of their illness or injury. Any such unpaid sick leave must be requested in writing by the employee at the time sick leave is exhausted. The employee may be required to waive any right to immediate reinstatement.During such unpaid sick leave, the City may also order a physical examination as provided in Section 11.2(b) above. Any employee's rightto unpaid sick leave shall be terminated if they accept remunerative employment elsewhere during such leave. The provisions of Section 11.7and 11.8 shall likewise be applicable to unpaid sick leave granted pursuant to this Section.
Exhaustion of Sick Leave. If an employee uses all of their sick leave and is still absent from duty because of the employee’s illness or injury, the employee may do the following: 13.1.6.1 Use other accrued personal days, vacation leave, or compensatory time; or 13.1.6.2 Elect to go on unpaid medical leave in Section 14.2. 13.1.6.3 If an employee elects not to use other available paid leave prior to commencing an unpaid leave under Section 14.2, they may not subsequently elect to use it during the unpaid leave. 13.1.6.4 Apply for sick leave bank days under Section 13.1.7.
