Effective September 1st, 2006, increase to $600.00. Effective September 1st, 2007, increase to $610.00. Effective September 1st, 2008, increase to $620.00. AMOUNT OF DISABILITY BENEFITS. Notwithstanding the provisions of Article IV, Section 1(b) of the Program, for an employee hired prior to September 20, 2016 at work on or after September 26, 2016, the base hourly rate used to determine amounts of insurance in accordance with the Schedule of Disability Benefits for Sickness and Accident and Extended Disability Benefits shall be the sum of the employee’s base hourly rate plus the cost-of-living allowance in effect on the date of disability minus $0.05. AMOUNT OF DISABILITY BENEFITS. Except as may be otherwise provided herein, the yearly amount of disability benefits to be received by a Participant shall be equal to the yearly amount of Retirement Annuity determined in accordance with Section 17.4 as if his/her Termination of Employment had occurred on the date he/she became disabled, but not less than $1000. The amount of disability benefits so determined for a Participant will be reduced by the amount of any periodic cash payments provided for him/her under or on account of any workers compensation law or similar law which become payable on or after the date he/she first becomes eligible for disability benefits hereunder.
