APPOINTMENT AND RENEWAL. 1. For the purpose of this Agreement the following definitions shall apply:

APPOINTMENT AND RENEWAL. Appointment of Members of the Bargaining Unit
1. New appointments that fall within the Bargaining Unit shall normally be advertised:
a) Within the University and
b) Outside the University In suitable national and discipline publications such as University Affairs, CAUT Bulletin and other publications that may be especially directed to professionals who belong to any of the four designated employment equity groups. Advertisements shall contain a clause stating that Laurentian University is committed to employment equity.
2. a) Appointments shall be made by the Vice-President, Academic on behalf of the Board and on the recommendation of the Xxxx/Director of the Library and the Department/School concerned.

Oregon Tech shall provide each bargaining unit member with a written Notice of Appointment signed by the President at the time of hire and at each contract renewal period that identifies, as applicable, classification, rank, type of appointment, the dates of appointment, annual FTE and base salary (9-month or 12-month), reporting supervisor(s) and campus assignment (for in-person classes only), and the following statement:

2. a) Appointments shall be made by the Vice-President, Academic on behalf of the Board and on the recommendation of the Xxxx/Director of the Library and the written recommendation of the majority of the Members of the Department/School concerned after scheduled, minuted meeting(s) with Unit Members. Individual Members may choose to vote in person, by email or by facsimile. Proxy voting is not permitted.
APPOINTMENT AND RENEWAL. (d) In October and February of each year, an electronic list showing the name, and the number of credits and courses, including distance education courses, taught by full-time Members as part of their teaching load.
(e) In May of each year, an electronic list showing the name, and number of credits and distance education courses taught by all Members.
(f) In May of each year an electronic list showing the name, courses taught on overload/ professional library service rendered and amount of money paid to each full-time Member of the Bargaining Unit during the current academic year.
(g) In May of each year an electronic list showing the name, courses taught and professional library service rendered and amount of money paid to each non-Member during the current academic year.
(h) In October and February of each year an electronic list including the names of all full-time Members with course or workload release during the current academic year including the amount and reason for the release granted.
(i) In October of each year a statement of the number of full-time Members of the Bargaining Unit that did not expend all of the professional allowance available to them as provided in Article 6.45 – Professional Development Expenditures, and the total amount of funds left unexpended as of June 30 of the previous year.
(j) A copy of the letters of appointment of all new full-time Faculty Members who accept employment with the University subsequent to the signing of this Collective Agreement by both Parties shall be supplied to the Union within fifteen (15) days of receipt of the said executed letters of appointment.
(k) A copy of the letters of appointment of all Sessional Members who accept employment with the University. Such letters of appointment shall be supplied to the Union within fifteen (15) days of receipt of said executed letters of appointment.
(l) A copy of the contracts issued to all full-time Faculty Members who have been granted sabbatical leave or any other kind of leave. Such contracts shall be supplied to the Union within fifteen (15) days after acceptance by the Member.
(m) A copy of patent and copyright contracts as per Article 6.30 – Patents and Article
APPOINTMENT AND RENEWAL. Oregon Tech shall provide each bargaining unit member 371 with a written Notice of Appointment signed by the President at the time of hire and at each 372 contract renewal period that identifies, as applicable, classification, rank, type of appointment, the 373 dates of appointment, annual FTE and base salary (9-month or 12-month), reporting supervisor(s) 374 and campus assignment (for in-person classes only), and the following statement: 375 376 This position is subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement (“CBA”) between 377 Oregon Tech and the Association, OT-AAUP (see: xxxxx://xxx.xxx.xxx/xxxxxxx/faculty- 378 labor-relations) and all Notices of Appointment and individual agreements regarding your 379 terms and conditions of employment prior to the effective date of the CBA are considered 380 void. Only the terms and conditions set forth in this Notice of Appointment and the current 381 CBA govern your employment at Oregon Tech. 382 383 Bargaining unit members shall have an opportunity to review their Notice of Appointment and 384 clarify inconsistencies, omissions, or errors with the Office of Human Resources or the Office of 385 the Xxxxxxx within the first term of the effective starting date of their appointment. 386 387 Oregon Tech shall send annual Notices of Appointments to bargaining unit members by email or by 388 mail, no later than August 15.
APPOINTMENT AND RENEWAL. Bargaining unit members are appointed on an annual basis for the first three (3) years of employment. Notice of renewal or non-renewal shall be provided by April 15. Non-renewals occurring prior to the beginning of an employee’s fourth consecutive school year shall be at the discretion of CoaH, and shall not be subjected to the grievance and arbitration process. For the purposes of this section, “consecutive school year” shall include only those years in which service in the professional bargaining unit totals one-hundred thirty-one (131) days. If an employee changes jobs within the bargaining unit after the three-year period, the employee shall be appointed on an annual basis for the following three years. Non-renewals occurring prior to the beginning of the employee’s fourth consecutive school year in the new role shall be at the discretion of CoaH, and shall not be subjected to the grievance and arbitration process. If such an employee is non-renewed prior to their fourth consecutive school year in the new position, they may return to the position that they previously held if a vacant position is available. If the person returns to their previous position prior to the beginning of the fourth consecutive school year, the employee shall be credited earned years of experience. If there is no vacancy, they shall be placed on a recall list in accordance with Article IX (Xxxxxx and Recall).
