Assignment Limitations. 11.3.1.1.1 Unit members shall be assigned only to positions for which they hold a valid California credential, and for which they are fully qualified.
11.3.1.1.2 At a unit member's sole discretion, the unit member may agree to an assignment outside the unit member's credential authorization(s), providing that the District shall secure all the necessary waivers and emergency credentials.
Assignment Limitations. A faculty member may not be scheduled for the following regular assignments without consultation:
12.4.6.1 A day assignment following an evening assignment with less than an eleven (11) hour break;
12.4.6.2 A six (6) consecutive-day assignment;
12.4.6.3 More than five (5) consecutive hours of instruction or six (6) consecutive hours of a non-instructional assignment without a half-hour intervening break (except for Saturday and summer classes).

B. At a unit member’s sole discretion, the unit member may agree to an assignment outside the unit member’s credential authorization(s), providing that the District assists the unit member to secure all the necessary waivers, emergency credentials, and the District’s Committee on Assignments approval.
C. At the end of a school year, the unit member, at his/her sole discretion, may withdraw from the voluntary assignment referred to in Section B above. Subsequently, the unit member shall be assigned in accordance with Section A above.
Assignment Limitations. Upon the approval of the department head and the notification of the Human Resources Department, acting assignments may be granted for a period not greater than ninety (90) calendar days. Extension of acting assignments beyond ninety (90) calendar days must be approved by the City Manager.

7.2.1.2 At a unit member’s sole discretion, the unit member may agree to an assignment outside the unit member’s credential authorization(s), providing that the District shall secure all the necessary waivers and emergency permits.
7.2.1.3 By February 15th, a unit member, at her/his sole discretion, may withdraw from voluntary assignment referred to in Article 7.2.1.2 for the following school year. Subsequently, the unit member shall be assigned in accordance with Article 7.2.1.1.
7.2.1.4 Bargaining unit members cannot be required to work at a charter school (Ed Code 47605). Unit members assigned to a charter school who wish to be assigned to a non- charter school must notify the District by March 15th for a change in assignment for the following school year. Assignment selection shall be made according to article 7.4.9.
7.2.1.4.1 For unit members who wish to be transferred from a charter school to a non-charter school during the school year, the following procedures shall be followed:
7.2.1.4.1.1 The unit member shall meet with the site level administrator to discuss the reasons the unit member is seeking a transfer and to determine if any concerns or issues can be resolved to the unit member’s satisfaction.
7.2.1.4.1.2 If, after ten (10) instructional days, no resolution can be agreed upon and the unit member still wishes to be transferred, then the unit member (and a VTA representative if deemed necessary by the unit member) and the site administrator shall meet with the Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources or his/her designee. The purpose of this meeting is to mutually agree on a resolution, which may include the unit member being transferred to a non- charter site.
7.2.1.4.1.2.1 A unit member shall be transferred to a non-charter site if at least one the following criteria are met: -another unit member will voluntarily switch assignments with the charter unit member-there is a vacancy at a non-charter site for which the unit member is qualified For unit members whose reasons for seeking a transfer to a non-charter school have led to the filing of a grievance, the procedures outlined in Article 11 of the CBA will be followed.
Assignment Limitations. A. No instructor shall be assigned more than two (2) consecutive lecture hours without his/her consent.
B. No instructor shall be assigned a regular class schedule which on any one day spans more than seven (7) hours, with the exception of extended day assignments, situations where the employee consents to the extended schedule, or situations where there is no reasonable alternative within the existing staff.
C. An instructor shall not at any one time be assigned classes requiring more than three (3) distinctly different preparations, except when the instructor consents or when there is no reasonable alternative to fill the full work load of full time instructors.
D. Faculty members who have a portion of their regular teaching load in the evening shall have that condition reevaluated each semester.
E. Faculty members shall not be assigned online or hybrid courses without their consent. Only faculty members who complete a training course, approved by Glendale Community College’s Committee on Distance Education (CoDE) for online and hybrid courses, shall be offered such courses.
F. A faculty member who creates a new course, or converts an existing course to online or hybrid shall maintain the right of first refusal to teach that course for four (4) consecutive primary semesters, provided that:
1. there is adequate enrollment to offer the course and,
2. the faculty member does not receive an unsatisfactory evaluation
3. the faculty member has completed training approved by CoDE.
G. No contract instructor shall be assigned distance education (fully online and/or hybrid) courses for more than 67% of his/her load.
Assignment Limitations. During their probationary period, probationary Public Safety Officers (PSO) who have not acquired comparable training or experience before commencing their probationary period under this Agreement, shall not be assigned as the only officer on duty unless a Sergeant, supervisor or another officer is also on duty. The University will attempt to avoid the situation where, pursuant to the above provision, two probationary officers are the only officers on duty. Accordingly, where it appears sufficiently in advance that two probationary officers are scheduled as the only officers on duty, the University shall make reasonable efforts to correct the situation as soon as practicable.
Assignment Limitations. Except as otherwise specifically provided herein, prior to Final Completion of the Project, Developer may not assign this Contract or any right, title or interest hereunder, to any entity other than an Affiliate without the City’s prior written permission. (For the sake of clarity, Developer shall be permitted to assign this Contract and any and all rights, title or interest hereunder to an Affiliate without the City’s prior written consent.) Developer shall have the right to collaterally assign all or any portion of its rights in this Contract to any lender or lenders prior to the Final Completion of the Project or to anyone after the Project has been Finally Completed. An assignment shall not relieve the assigning party from its obligations under this Contract. Any purported assignment of this Contract or of any right, title or interest hereunder not complying with this Article IX shall be void and of no force or effect.

Assignment Limitations. Except as provided herein, ASSIGNOR and ASSIGNEE makes no other representations or warranties, either express or implied, nor makes any representation or warranty as to enforceability or perfection of the instrument assigned hereby.
